We finished Andor so we're watching A New Hope and I realized that even though Andor and the other new Star Wars movies are excellent they're not campy and that's an important element of Star Wars to me.

Wow I am glad someone told me to watch through the credits on the last episode of Andor.

Congratulations @katiehonan.bsky.social on writing the best piece of predictive science fiction of all time

I'm invited to two baby showers this summer and I think I'm gonna make a mix CD of like Raffi, Laurie Berkner, Elizabeth Mitchell, Dan Zanes, Okee Dokee Brothers and Caspar Baby Pants so they're ready to dance with their babies.

Sometimes I think about all the things I could bike to with my kid from my house without breaking a sweat (our pool club, Hmart, the Edison Library, Rutgers Garden, the Zimmerli art museum) except I value actually being alive and not seriously injured and I get really pissed off.

My dad thinks I should run for Congress and I'm thinking that the center point of my platform is going to be mailing all toddlers a pair of overalls starting when they're 18mo til they're 4 because overalls are the cutest.

Truly do not grasp adults who are like "I'm gonna be a cool parent and my kids are gonna listen to Lana Del Ray instead of Raffi?" Like, friendo you're only cheating *yourself* out of Down By the Bay rhymes. Raffi is great.

The lighting for this NJ gubernatorial primary debate is terrible. Mikie Sherrill looks like a ghost.

I want to plant bayberry bushes in my yard for some bird habitat and because they're drought and deer resistant and I hate (but love) that there's a silly little voice in my head that firmly believes that I could make bayberry candles.

At church basement baby playgroup and there's a guy with his kids in a Jordan Peterson shirt on and i feel like he should have to turn it inside out.

in which I ask what it means to be a Christian when "one’s entire tutelage as a Christian has been overseen by one of two zombies"

Today's bartering bread for eggs recipe is this. It's proofing on the counter and it smells so good! Because we're in a clingy phase I managed to knead it while wearing a giant toddler on my back. www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/verm...

I think a lot about prepping but I have overlooked an important part about prepping which is being careful and not hurting myself. It is very fun to have a very bruised toe (from tripping while carrying too many groceries), a toddler who wants to be worn and a garden that needs to be weeded.

What's funny about the Trump woman aesthetic of power this that it's such an NJ/NY look. All these women look like they should be named Theresa and should be yelling at a Macy's employee at Staten Island Mall.

Some added context to this terribleness by Tom's River is that a huge homeless encampment in the woods that had existed for more than a decade about a half hour from this area was recently totally cleared. There are more people on the street down the shore than ever.

It's radish season and my CSA is half radishes so I made this for dinner tonight to rave reviews. Highly recommend. Toddler did not like it but she really just wants to eat sweet potatoes and bananas and bread. Swish your greens good. www.davidlebovitz.com/pistou-radis...
