New from me x

Also pretty important to distinguish between “workplace DEI” meaning “some bullshit training they make us do every year” and “workplace DEI” meaning “hiring women and people of colour and not firing people for being gay”

i do think that most workplace DEI is useless, but that doesn’t matter because when Republicans complain about “DEI” they’re not talking about that, they’re talking about the visibility of minorities in public life

been writing some absolutely cracking poems lately that maybe no one will ever read because they're just a ~~~little~ too mentally ill haha :)

"film look" or "cinematic look" should be banned as terms from any video or article about prosumer cameras.

if you, a friend, took literally anything i wrote just for you and had it summarised by AI I would honestly prefer you never read the message and also never talk to me again :)

Damn I passed this last Saturday with @lizduckchong.bsky.social as we walked along the river from Parra to Rydalmere Ferry and back. I didn't stop to read the words as I was having such a lovely time.

Been editing Iceland photos again and I wanna go back so badly!!!!!!!! Girls belong in the fjords!!!!

Hey, remember when we as a society rejected 3D TVs? Google Stadia? NFTs? And the corporations got the hint and stopped trying to sell them to us? Can we do the same with ChatGPT and Midjourney and all this other genAI shit?

ai video isn't a silly tool, it's not something that's going to make your life easier, and increasingly it doesn't seem to be a fad it's sinister shit being propped up by massive tech companies with a vested interest in manipulating visual and viral reality. there are no benign use cases for it.

Global average temperatures are spiking, rising faster than climate models seem able to explain, and in a sane world, every country would be united in a full-scale effort to figure this out & respond. Instead the US is dismantling its scientific infrastructure.

It's a very minor gripe, and they seem to have improved it a lot from the first episode, but Dropout's new Parlor Room is a heap of fun and well edited and the lighting just feels way too harsh. I wish it was warmer and felt less intensely top lit.

This is such a massive outcome for @parentsforclimate.bsky.social. 🎉

Stumbled on this old piece of work and it's still very sweet. medium.com/@lizduckchon...

soldered my first xlr cable and i feel invincible

recession indicators in every major industry

My kingdom for trans men with deep voices and facial hair to stop making posts that smugly say “oh so I guess you want Me in the women’s bathroom, checkmate” for the love of god.

been watching the pitt and in these later episodes i am laughing so much, god, it's so dark but robby is so funny when he gets stressed

Israel has murdered 110 people in Gaza since this morning.

Important lessons for fucking everyone in this piece. How gutless of Scwartz to not put it in print. Correct link here - overland.org.au/2025/04/ando...

Sorry inner city queers and girlies but I cannot stand the word yap 😵😵‍💫🫨

🥇 made a green curry and nailed the perfect level of heat.

I think I'm definitely done with EDI talks that refer to "people that identify as men/women" instead of just saying "men and women", the underlying implication that "identify as women" that some of those people might not actually be women is just not something I'm willing to accept anymore.

Looking for a pair of shoes this morning and found that the back of several pieces of furniture are completely covered in mould. Small apartment, dehydrator running almost 24/7 for months, cleaned everything twice over summer. Fuck this shit sucks.

Sure, AI may be an environmental disaster and produce mid outcomes in cases where it doesn't straight up lie, but at least it's extremely unprofitable.

Looked at the stats of how many people have had trouble saving, bought less groceries or skipped medications and was like damn that's rough.. then remembered in the past 2 years I've done all of those things 🙃

The new season of the rehearsal is one of the strangest and best things I've ever seen.

I know we're all talking about google results going to shit in the past few years but has anyone else seen a marked and rapid decline on their youtube recs? I feel like I get shown the same 12 videos over and over for a whole week, and then another 12 the next week – none of which I want to watch.

At times like this, I re-read Matthew Olzman's poem:

"Amazon will use its power to get more power." Harrowing reading. www.switchyardmag.com/issue-4/powe...
