I love small town gossip; it's so random on the high/low stakes scale. I just found out from the town handyman that the local bank where my in-laws have kept their their money for the past 60 years has teller drawers that don't lock and the vault is so old and insecure that the FDIC won't insure it.

As a kid, I used to get so annoyed with my mom and Grandma and aunts making us wait to eat the cake until they all took photos of it, and now as an adult trying to put together albums from all these old rolls of film, the cakes tell me where and when the other photos on the negatives were taken.
