Ah, I see. So in the photo in the original post, the space for tree roots extends underneath the bicycle parking, and they excavate a deep space before planting.

I love to see this transformation! I'm curious to know, is that enough room for the trees to grow to maturity? What is done below-ground to make space for the roots?

The worst part is Orem *could* be really fantastic if reactionary NIMBYs weren't hell-bent on keeping it a hellscape. I know a lot of good people in Orem doing good work to make it a better place, so I'm sort of Orem-pilled in the same way I'm Blutah-pilled.

I love that time of evening. Probably my very favorite. (It makes me wish for the abolition of Daylight Saving Time, so we can more easily take advantage of fresh, breezy summer evenings)

Haha! He's an excellent follow AND an excellent fellow. And the huge turnout at recent protests has me feeling like there are a whole lot of excellent fellows in our state :)

This is an amazing photo!! Two murals, a reflection selfie, a cute kid, a custom box, a cargo bike, a bike as cargo, bike parking covered in fun stickers, AND a colorful bus in the background!

"I love your sign, what does it say?" Sofia: "Glad you asked..." *takes a deep breath*

It's basically this for her any time we watch a Star Wars show

RIP ANAL 🪦🌹

For my wife, it's this plus the fact being a casual Star Wars fan means she sometimes doesn't know whether the character on screen (or a place or event mentioned, etc) is one she's supposed to already know, or one the audience is meeting for the first time.

👀 I'm excited for these, especially Judkins's candidacy! Fairly quiet in Springville races: 🗳 One challenger against very popular incumbent Mayor Matt Packard. 🗳 Incumbent Cl. Snelson running for third term. 🗳 Of the two candidates for an open council seat, Karen Ellingson is an obvious shoo-in.

That, and the fact there are some examples of when the country was obviously more divided than today (e.g. the Civil War).
comment in response to post
I was mostly struck by the fact this is definitely *not* the most divided time in the nation's history. e.g. there was that whole Civil War thing

Reminder they said this exact bull shit back then
comment in response to post
Exactly. Divided figuratively and literally, drawn up in actual battle lines against each other.

This is such a huge, huge bummer. Costs more than doubling at the same time that federal funds/capacity are evaporating—and for no good reason at all!

Slimer is what we put in our bike tubes. Bike lanes get Shrek'd: They're very friendly but NIMBYs are terrified of them, there are many layers (like an onion) of bureaucracy to get through before you can build them, and we are gonna keep crankin' out sequels despite the haters!

The late, great parking researcher Donald Shoup's three pillars: • Eliminate off-street parking req's. • Charge the right price for on-street parking. • Spend parking revenue to visibly improve public services where it is collected. I wonder if/how much these changes were informed by the research.

My wife and I also live car-free (in Springville, Utah) and get around on a cargo bike and transit! And I have a nonbinary sibling. I'm not familiar with Vancouver's transit or livery colors but I tried making a local version for you if you like the silly meme. How'd I do?

Next you need to do the even tighter loop around the new 500 N 1300 W roundabout sculpture 😉

Does the tighter radius make it less comfortable to run?
