"You can be told the car is unsafe but a driver is never told they are unsafe ..." The problem is there is no means of removing a licence until a driver is convicted of an offence. We should have mandatory requalification every 5 years. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

Fascinating article. My Dad used to work on Sunderland's at Pembroke Dock and elsewhere when he was doing his RAF national service in nearly '50s. Air frame fitter he was.

The deaths of around 70 people in the air crash in Washington is tragic. Around 100* people probably died on the roads in the US today. There will be an enquiry about the air crash but not about the road deaths. * There are around 40,000 road deaths per year in US.
