There's a fake account impersonating Labour MP @ruthcadbury.bsky.social (see the extra "r"). This has been my reply to a message sent from this account. Hope it gets deleted soon.

I am starting a new journey, finally getting out of the unemployed list, therefore won't have much time to post on this platform. Hope everything goes well.

Happy New Year!

Christmas is a joyous time in London—our city comes alive with lights in our streets and the kindness of friends and strangers alike. Let’s embrace the generosity and warmth of the season and carry that spirit into 2025. From my family to yours, Merry Christmas. youtu.be/YTKleI47IkI

Merry Christmas!

In Galician culture, we have our own version of Santa: the #Apalpador or #Pandigueiro, a man from the mountains who checks if children's bellys are full at Christmas Eve. The tradition is similar to that of the Basque #Olentzero.

Owen Jones has conquered the impossible, uniting the left and right in one thing: Defining him as an insufferable arrogant.

I have shared on #Twitter some short videos from mayors of different towns in Galicia; they explain why they oppose the building of a large cellulose plant in #Lugo, which would destroy our rural & local economy. If someone wants to know more (the videos are in Galician language), drop me a message.

Extreme poverty in Africa is rising, but 32 countries spend more on paying down debt than healthcare. The last Labour government worked to end the debt crisis. We have an opportunity to do the same and help end extreme poverty for good.

Growing evidence shows smartphones, and social media in particular, are negatively impacting our children’s mental health, sleep and learning. I see it as a parent. It was great to speak with Josh MacAlister about Safer Phones Bill to show my support. saferphonesbill.co.uk

The @libdems.org.uk MP for Tunbridge Wells, Mike Martin, has posted a must-read Twitter thread on Syria. It provides a strong analysis of the current conflicts emerging within the region, maintaining an approach of scepticism towards the future. A Foreign Secretary in the making.

On #FamilyFarmTax: I think it's wrong and will make small farmers poorer, while big corporations that keep polluting rivers and rural communities are not being punished. A Labour govt. should be taxing the wealthy, not farmers and workers. I'm unable to support a policy that puts families at risk.

Elon Musk keeps on interfering on British politics. The British people must be the only ones with the capacity to change their representatives, hold MPs and govts to account, etc. An American multimillionaire with links to the far-right has NO mandate on UK politics WHATSOEVER.

With reports that patients might have to pay for assisted dying, 61% of Britons think that assisted dying should be available for free on the NHS Available for free on NHS: 61% Only available from private providers: 15% yougov.co.uk/topics/polit...

Congratulations to all the Plaid team, and especially to @rhunapiorwerth.bsky.social , I interviewed him some years ago, when he wasn't leader of the party, and it is great to see the growing success of Plaid under his leadership. This is a great start!

Deputy leader of @thegreenparty.bsky.social suggested although government investment in retrofit is inadequate, Sadiq Khan was also dragging his feet, on training and procurement.  Recent research for City Hall and London Councils was relatively damning too." www.onlondon.co.uk/charles-wrig...

#AssistedDyingBill: I have many questions on the implementation, assessment and limitations of this legislation. I do not have a specific opinion on the subject matter, each case might require distinct procedures. I welcome all views and would like to hear from both sides of the debate!

Absolutely over the moon for newly elected Highland Councillor for Fort William, Andrew Baxter, elected yesterday with 58% of first preference votes! Our best ever result in the ward. 🔶🔶🔶

🚨 NEW: The Government has said it will fulfil its legal obligations to the ICC following the issue of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant [@SkyNews]

This exploitative practice to sexualise and violate women by making nudes needs to be stopped. This is getting used to bully girls in school. Well done @Jess4Lowestoft for leading this campaign

#APPGs are essential to foster crossparty cooperation on specific issues that require in-depth discussions and debates. It's uncommon for the British public to know about the impactful work these groups do because the media would rather focus on the politics of spectacle and controversy.

Victims of this scandal continue to die at the rate of one every three days so when we continue to see delays in compensation being paid then we are seeing people dying while they wait to see justice and recognition of their ordeal. www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/health/...

EXCLUSIVE: Palliative Care Minister Stephen Kinnock tells me he will vote for assisted dying, contrary to Health Secretary Wes Streeting’s concerns. He believes there is no conflict between good palliative care and assisted dying and that it is possible to have both. itv.com/news/2024-11...

Many across our towns and villages rely on local bus services, but over the years they have fallen into decline. From £1bn of funding to extra powers for local councils to run routes, our Government is committed to delivering bus services we can all rely on👇 hitchin.nub.news/news/local-n...

At City Hall's Budget & Performance Committee, I’ve asked questions on the critical need to protect food-growing initiatives. In the face of a climate crisis, we must take food security seriously—supporting local production is essential for resilience and sustainability.

Impt announcement from Scottish Labour. As winter bites,I worry for our elders struggling to keep warm. In my area every village has at least one warm community room. But the government should now correct its mistake and instate protective benefits to all who struggle

Good to see @chriswebbmp.bsky.social joining BlueSky. He is an amazing MP and a strong voice for workers and communities in Blackpool.

BlueSky needs more Conservative MPs, they only have @benobesejecty.bsky.social and @robertjenrick.bsky.social representing the resistance to the huge number of Labour MPs who have an account.

#AssistedDying is one of the most complex issues being addressed in today's political discussions because individual and social factors come in contradiction. The emotional and the rational, the experiences within families, etc., all of these issues will shape each one's views on the matter.

'London-style' buses promised nationwide with £1bn boost www.bbc.com/news/article...

This MP is becoming a local champion, like so many other newcomers to the HofC. Local matters should always be the priority for MPs, specially in areas that were left behind by previous governments.

So it turns out I’m the first Conservative MP to join Bluesky…

I hope this app promotes political dissent, so far I only see Labour and LibDem supporters, and some Greens.
