A man's life is potentially in the balance, and the red hat judges are playing ping pong with his existence. Every one of you who isn't up in arms about this is complicit. "I was just following orders" didn't work 80 years ago, it doesn't work now.

Maybe the very fact that so many families WILL be together makes it an opportunity to have a bigger impact. These decisions will affect our kids, after all. Maybe family and community gatherings can consider adding a component at a micro level. "Showing Up" might not require all in one place.
