TIL: Communing with nature requires brownies Also, even light breezes suck if you're not very heavy.

Alternate park had exactly what I was looking for, a covered area with lots of picnic tables! Perfect for the party that someone was setting up there Sigh Ended up at the park that's like two minutes from my home, which almost nobody uses, probably because the three tables are really uncomfortable

I think I've found a good substitute park. See you later internet! Or relatively soon if it's really disappointing.

"There are protests, your majesty." "Good," said the Emperor. "What are they protesting?" "Grain prices. But why are protests good?" "What would you call a society with no protests?" "Happy, your majesty." "I would call it oppressed. Prepare a report on their grievances."

Feel like going to the park to read, but the best choice for that will have a festival going on next to it.

Local McDonald's was out of Squishmallows, so went to Ikea for an alternate thing to celebrate with. Didn't realize the markers weren't in a resealable case until I tried to open them, which seems like a weird choice.

Finally! A dead body!* I was beginning to think I'd been mistaken about this book's genre *If you ignore the saint that they're trying to get for a relic

Why is it always "you need to learn how to take a joke," and never "I need to learn to read the fucking room"?

I have something to celebrate tomorrow *checks to see what the current Happy Meal toy is* Oooo... still plushies!

This might be the absolute greatest reply we have ever received. Thank you, Cookie Monster 📕🍪💙

No, audiobook, I do not need you to read me the back cover blurb during the intro. I already decided to read this book. Its copyrighted is 1991, so it's not even for someone who's listening to a preview. This thing was probably on cassettes originally.

*looks at upcoming temperatures* I wish I had a head that worked for bald.

Secret Labs Titan Evo XL Witcher Edition : $803 Secret Labs SKINS Artic White to protect leather after 3+ years of use (and cat claws) : $169 Secret Labs Lumbar Pillow Pro : $79 Total cost for the most expensive cat bed in the house : $1,042 The photo below of Sergi sleeping on it? Priceless

You remember James Frey as the confabulator who faked a memoir and got humiliated by Oprah for it; I remember him as the book packager who egregiously exploited young writers with an outrageously bad ghost writing contract. He's always been fucking terrible. whatever.scalzi.com/2010/11/13/t...

Have been mistaken for a senior twice in the last two days by bus drivers. Given senior bus fare is almost a dollar cheaper, I haven't felt the urge to argue with them.

I've used Stoicism as a tool to deal with a lot of shit, but scrolling through a Google AI "summary" of an email thread that was longer then the actual thread this morning just to *get* to the thread, I'd like to think Marcus Aurelius would've sewn techbros into a bag and tossed them into the Tiber.

"If they have to do it, they should do it in private." "Yeah!" "It's not right, doing it in the open where kids can see." "Yeah! It's not like they have to, it's something they choose to do." "True. Hate is a lifestyle choice." "Absol- Hate?" "Yeah. What did you think we were talking about?"

The cat just managed to induce the windows box to start screen-reading everything This includes a window hidden behind the lock screen. That’s just terrible security design. (Also, anybody know how to turn it off?)

Haven't even tried going anywhere and I already miss my bus pass. Didn't end up going everywhere I planned to check out the route to, since May decided to be an endless sea of rain. Maybe I'll save up and buy one for July or August, when the urge to go places with AC is strong.

Have spent $4 acquiring five books. I love library book sales.

POV: The best of 80s/90s playlist at the fast food place starts playing "Holding Out for a Hero"

Tomorrow, nowhere I have to be* and my monthly bus pass is still good. 🤔 *There is a library book sale. I will be there.
