First attempt at wiring up this guy; it started life as a little volunteer sapling Thuja occidentalis that I decided to save from the trash bin, and since it survived winter, I finally got around to wiring it. It's a first attempt; I'll get better at this as time goes on. #bonsai

A sweet little fruiting of Inocybe I found last year in a fairly high-quality forest dominated by Fagus grandifolia. Our sequencing groups have been referring to this by the temp code Inocybe "sp-IN63" I really should do some microscopy on this one #fungifriends #mycology #photography

Goodyera pubescens is absolutely one of my favorite plants to come across in the woods. These little orchids are just so cute. I keep a few different species of Jewel Orchids in the subtribe Goodyerinae as house plants, but I'll just appreciate these in the woods. #nature #nativeplants
