Not so surprising, Trump officials have been saying the US shouldn't supply Virginia subs to Australia from the get go.
The Aussies probably won't get their money back but hopefully they won't put any more in either?

Pure coincidence it came out the same week as unofficial select committee. Apart from going to print the week before and the interview/shoot at least a week (and probably many more) older still, any publisher worth 1/4 their salt would likely say "no" if the Nats pushed for this release date.

any publisher worth even half their salt would've said "no" and likely taken steps to avoid even the chance of looking like they'd bowed to political pressure. Controversy for a publisher risks losing advertising, which is how they make money.
