While not from the measles, I had encephalitis when I was 7, after getting sick with the flu. Encephalitis can result from measles. I nearly died and was in the hospital for a month. Why expose a child to that risk when measles is preventable?

A couple of the best people I know are childless dog moms.

But, let me guess, he got to stay.

Seriously I don't know what this means. None of this is good. No tourism affects so many during the summer months. No Medicaid affects most everyone in one way or another. Tariffs mean higher prices, supply shortages, and layoffs for those affected by all of this.

For what? Cheese lines?

I know that. I know we are fortunate when so many others aren't. I went to sleep scared on election night and woke up the same. I have been anxious about what this means for all of us. Maybe not today, but we will all feel the pain of this administration. Of course, I am scared for my kids.

We all voted for Harris. Unfortunately, as retired parents we don't have the income to make sure they are okay. We are just one family of most of the families in this country. I am sickened by what this administration has already done to so many families. We have escaped it so far. We are lucky,

We live in scary times. I worry for my kids. My son works for Delta and has been there for just over a year. My daughter works as an RN in a state psych hospital. Both could see their jobs gone. I know that is selfish of me, but I am so pissed at those who never thought this would come.

You mean the video not taken at the funeral? Okay.

Does he have anything else to do but rage tweet?
comment in response to post
We know it because he wore it to Jimmy Carter's funeral. The hypocrisy is sickening. He's old, texting and napping at the Pope's funeral (you know the one he couldn't wait for), and he gets the usual pass. Same with the inappropriate dress. Although I think Zelensky was fine for the Oval mtg.
comment in response to post
Is wearing a blue suit (not navy, but blue), the worst thing he's done? No. But, it just shows such hypocrisy. He and Vance were all about Zelensky not wearing a suit in the Oval. then Kid Rock shows up looking like a clown and Elon wears a t-shirt and a hat. Trump has a black suit.
comment in response to post
I don't think it's the funeral (he is wearing entirely different shoes to funeral vs this photo). Maybe it was the Sunday mass in the Pope's honor that 200,000 people attended. So, Zelensky did dress completely in black for the funeral. Trump didn't. What is your point?
comment in response to post
He did wear one to the funeral. Trump wore his bright blue one. What’s your point?

It's not the same as when we Baby Boomers were in college. Just realize that. www.studentloanprofessor.com/student-loan....
comment in response to post
Whatever. Let's never reign in the practices that have created the student loan crisis. Instead we can solve everything by feeling as we are better than those today who may never be able to pay off their loans. Maybe take a minute to read this and then dig deep for some understanding of today.
comment in response to post
We also need people to understand that we don’t all come from the same situation, and what is possible for some isn’t for others.
comment in response to post
Good for you! Some choose a trade, some choose a career in the military, some choose to college, and some choose to work with no further education. We need all and we need to stop the predatory education debt.

I think some didn’t see her as a pedophile because she was a woman. Had she been a man. . .
comment in response to post
When her student/ victim was 12 or 13. A child. She was a pedophile.
comment in response to post
I don’t see it that way. It’s more like those whose ancestors came her centuries ago are in solidarity with those born her yesterday. They are saying they come from immigrants just as this child did. I just do t get your take at all.
comment in response to post
Actually you are in a cult.
comment in response to post
I payed mine off so just STFU. It was different back when student loans were regulated and not predatory. Maybe get a clue and stop with your ignorance about what students are facing today. Fine. You didn’t go to college. We need trades and college educated. Now go back under your rock.

Maybe he just went with this pope sad bad things about his policies and wanted to dress in blue out of spite. That’s his mentality. Plus, he wanted to stand out. Bet it pisses him off that there were cheers for Zelensky who stood out more to the crowd? Not him.

As a former Catholic who grew up in the church I still have that vision of my grandma praying her rosary and her saint medals pinned to her slip. I left the church as an adult but still saw Pope Francis as a leader to guide us.

Trades do, if a union member, pay well. Do you really think all construction workers, painters, hair stylists are making $50+ an hour. Because I am thinking most people in a service industry are scraping by. Those union jobs just aren't what is happening today.
comment in response to post
That pisses me off. I know of a similar situation. PPP loan and giving employees the bare minimum hrs to not have to pay back that loan and then buying luxuries while employees were trying to put food on the table and pay bills. Sadly their employees knew.
comment in response to post
I know we adjust for the increase in cost and wages, but wages haven't gone up drastically while cost have. Undergrad books probably cost me $150/semester in the early 80's for 18 credits. Tuition $800/semester. My rent was $75 a month. I did work. My loans were $8500, & at $125 I paid them in10 yrs
comment in response to post
Fuck these people who took taxpayer money and deny student loan forgiveness for $10000 (they took much more).
comment in response to post
This! Because I know there were businesses that manipulated the PPP Loans.

It's really hard to come to grips with really not liking some Democrats. I just want to think that people understand we are t he party that gets where we are today. Some clearly aren't there and are still living in the past and measuring others by their 1980's life.
