Weve always said the same thing in Louisiana.

Oh, I already had a coworker offer me their car for six months after we found ourselves down to one unexpectedly. I love everything about it so far...just wish I could figure out the weather 🤣

Or...I'm doing better than most of my breathern would. There's obviously a reason my alma mater doesn't have an alumni association chapter here and it's one of the few states without one.

LOL...I'm not, like, mad about it or anything. I'm just confused. I'm trying to figure out how to navigate my new environment, but every day is another curveball. Being that I'm from South Louisiana and all I knew about snow before was "BAD!", I'm doing fairly well.

And again, yesterday was 8-14° and I was okay in just a parka (no gloves, scarf, or beanie). It's currently 29° and I'm absolutely FROZEN. NONE of this makes sense.

Dog is basically refusing to poop outside now. If he can't hold it any longer, he runs out, finds any ground lacking snow (usually the sidewalk), poops, and then runs back to the door. I literally have to drag him to pick up his poop and bring it to the wastebasket.

I can promise you one thing: Little Man Dexter is NOT happy about all this snow. I walked him last night and he just GLARED at me. It's like he was daring me to drop trou and squat in the snow to poop. Nah, Little Man...I'm good.

I'm so fucking sick of this. We need to protect our kids and our teachers. We need sensible gun laws. Parents shouldn't be scared to send their kids to school. I shouldn't be worried about my grown daughter going to work everyday. This timeline is bullshit.

By "fun", I mean "horrific experience where you instantly feel like you're drowning when you walk outside."

I honestly thought Louisiana was bad, but at least you knew it was pretty much always 90°+ with at least 95% humidity and about a 99% chance of rain everyday. The steam coming from the ground just just an added sprinkle of "fun".

It is currently 13° and it feels downright WARM. I am even outside without a beanie...just the hood of my parka. Knees are a bit cold, so I guess I need tights when it the temps drop again after this weekend.

CL boots swapped out for slightly too big Hunter wellies. Two pairs of thick socks helps. Isotoners swapped out for North Face gloves with actual touchscreen usage. Hands are still cold, but it's better.

I'd always been told "Southern women are the most beautiful in the world." I disagree. Women here don't look any different than those in the South. In the South, you have the luxury of dolling yourself up from head-to-toe. Here, you gotta bundle up and dress for function. Stupid Southernisms...

Also, the wind...the second I'd put on any makeup, all the tears from my eyes and snot from my nose just ruins it. And aside from work (where I sit hidden behind monitors), no one is going to see me. If I'm outside, everyone is looking down to shield from the wind.

Also, it snows when it's not supposed to. It's like the sky is trying to hold in its pee, but can't, so it dribbles out as flurries. So weird.

Count me in the group of white women who voted for Harris. I tried, everyone, I really did.

Why must my condition of hyper color extremities be exploited by consumerism? I don't want my ears to turn dark purple and I'm sure passersby would prefer they not, either. JUSTICE FOR RAYNAUD'S VICTIMS!!! (/s...if not obvi)

Thr headbands are an easier and more frugal option. Earmuffs run the gammot from $5-$85 (that I've seen so far). However, I can not reconcile in my brain spending $85 on earmuffs that look like their only job is blocking me from hearing, "Ugg".
