This in particular hits very close to home as I’ve seen it creep up more and more in the past few months. The amount of times I’ve seen the same exact posting repeated over months it’s insane.

You know what's funny though? they have MOTION designers.. wym you need product generalists WHEN YOU HAVE FRICKING MOTION DESIGNERS.. you need at least a small army of great visual designers to even think of hiring something that specific...

When I had the chance to get their feedback we discussed that the JD was misleading to say the least.. like, wtf do you mean you want me to be extremely thorough on the product side but also be a specialized visual designer??

just a little over two months ago I was cutoff from a late stage interview process (second-to-last) because of this exact thing. The company was advertising the search for a product designer but didn't like how I implemented my solution visually (extremely vanilla, since I was focusing on procedure)

yeah, the 2nd point really hits home. It's now, on my down time when I remember those times of leisure on dA and that directly relates to my hectic everyday work-life balance. Still though, new artists are sure to be out there.. there's got to be some other outlet, no? am I so outdated?
