They’re trying to push the country into civil unrest so that they can bring in martial law & a state of emergency to justify suspending elections. It’s basic “create a crisis to justify the solution”. There will be people planted to stir up the responses to ICE activity. People need to be smarter.

This what they want, so they can justify bringing in martial law. This basic “create a crisis then offer a solution”, it’s an enabling tool for those with agendas that aren’t the best interests of the populace. My guess is the real goal here is declaring a state of emergency & suspending elections.

Classic “solution to a crisis” enabling technique. In the UK “boat people” are the crisis, with leaving the ECHR being proffered as the solution. The real goal here is deregulation, enabling big money to operate unfettered by workers’ rights & environmental & consumer standards & protections.

Yes, that “you can’t manage what you don’t measure” mantra has been expediently inverted to “you don’t have to manage what you aren’t measuring”. An ethically appalling state of affairs resulting from the malignant greed of big money & its influence on our weak leaders & media.

They expediently invert the “you can’t manage what you don’t measure” logic to that of “you don’t have to manage what you don’t measure”. The malignant greed of big money pursuing its self-serving agenda, as ever.

This is awesome work, thank you. As a firm believer in “you can’t manage what you don’t measure”, I can’t believe governments aren’t doing this type of work as a matter of public interest and safety.

📌 Interesting development.
Unfortunate that the article says “While the situation is now largely under control,…” about Covid.

47k is only about 10% of the voting age population of Cornwall. 1 in 10 support is not exactly an overwhelming mandate for their leadership and policies. The bottom line is that more people didn’t vote Reform than did, so Cornwall isn’t being denied a Reform led council.

Malignant corporate greed always puts profit, growth & self-interest ahead of the wellbeing of the populace & planet. Those that exert the most power influence governments & control most of the mainstream media. They won’t change tack unless it benefits themselves to do so.

Yes, indeed. Maybe because I live in the middle of nowhere, very rural here!

Exactly this. Wearing a mask is a lot less inconvenient than serious long-term health problems or Long Covid.

If you think of the air that you breathe as part of your diet - what you consume, you wouldn’t choose to consume contaminated water or food, so why would you consume contaminated air? Wearing a good quality mask (N95/FFP2 or better respirator) in shared air is the simplest way to breathe cleaner air

It’s not just the vulnerable that are at risk.

Very succinct article. I was thinking £102m between all the GP practices is barely vapour in the fuel tank. Seems like more of a tokenistic PR strategy than anything else, it makes it look like he’s doing something. In terms of moving “further & faster”, this is about an inch where a mile was needed

Labour’s proposed PIP changes are ethically appalling, especially in view of the wealth that exists around us. This will cause an awful amount of distress and suffering, and probably deaths. Austerity 2.0. - this is not good governance.

It’s ethically appalling that the public health messaging is so poor. A few simple measures would make a huge difference. It just takes the will to act. Inaction = poor leadership.

Brilliant summary of events, both past & ongoing. The continuing lack of fact-based public messaging is ethically appalling. A few small changes could make a huge difference, it just takes the will to act from leaders. Inaction = poor leadership, negligence & failure of duty to protect the populace.

100% agree. Spotify also seems to have frequent tiny skip glitches. Apple seems pretty clean by comparison.

Absolutely this, they need to be sent a strong message. Labour’s proposed PIP changes are ethically appalling, especially in view of the wealth that exists around us. This will cause an awful amount of distress and suffering, and probably deaths. Austerity 2.0.

You might want to look into some of the research about the impact of Covid infections on cognitive function & neurodegenerative disease. Here’s a recent post about this for you to start with. Being properly informed allows you to speak from a position of strength.
