Congrats to all newly minted scientists, physicians, public health workers, and healthcare workers who are graduating! You are entering professions that are tragically under heavy political attack, but please know that you are needed now more than ever. You got this!

CDC now says all kids "may receive" COVID vaccines. This means insurance companies will likely still cover the shots. BUT the new guidance is more confusing than a broad recommendation, and COVID vaccines during pregnancy are now listed as "No Guidance/Not Applicable," which will decrease uptake.

Including fake studies and using AI to generate a report should instantly disqualify anyone to lead a scientific agency.

RFK’s “Make America Healthy Again” report cites several studies that don’t even exist.

🚨ATTENTION MOMS🚨 Friday, May 30th at 3pm Meet me outside of the CDC with your pregnant bellies, your babies, your toddlers, your strollers, your signs, and your baby gear. We are standing up for science and vaccines! @standupforscience.bsky.social RSVP: actionnetwork.org/events/moms-...

Delighted to see this piece with Victor Ambros, @carlbergstrom.com, Carol Greider, @michaelemann.bsky.social, and @briannosek.bsky.social in the wild. Trump’s new ‘gold standard’ rule will destroy American science as we know it @standupforscience.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

"Yes, Cuomo is awful, but I have some policy differences with the progressives, so this is hard." This is not hard. What you do is, you set aside your precious little checklist, and YOU DON'T VOTE FOR THE AWFUL PERSON.

Our 💯 hours to #SaveAmericasForecasts starts tomorrow! Tune in to hear over 200+ US meteorologists and climate scientists share the importance of federally funded weather and climate research! wclivestream.com

Breaking: HHS is canceling a $600 million contract with Moderna to develop, test, and license vaccines for flu strains that could trigger future pandemics, including the dangerous H5N1 bird flu virus.

The US does not have a universal single-payer healthcare system. Statements by health authorities greatly influence vaccine access because dropping vaccine recommendations give insurance companies an excuse not to cover them. Vaccines are not accessible if you can’t afford them.

The man on the left wrote in the New England Journal of Medicine *last week* that pregnancy is a one of the medical conditions that increases the risk of severe covid and thereby warrants vaccination. Covid infection is linked to miscarriages. MAHA is a cult. www.statnews.com/2025/05/27/c...

5 years since the start of the pandemic and it is frustrating that we still need to keep repeating: vaccines, masks, tests, and cleaning the air all play roles in reducing transmission. Wrongly claiming that any of these layers isn’t important is an anti-science stance.

RFK told us that people should not be taking medical advice from him, yet he is doing everything he can to take away people’s access to vaccines.

Remember when Bill Cassidy justified his confirmation vote for RFK by claiming that he received reassurances that RFK would not attack vaccines? Lol

Aside from the fact that anyone can get seriously ill from COVID, a key point they are deliberately hiding when removing access is that COVID vaccines reduce transmission. People choose to get vaccinated to protect other people. It is wrong and harmful to take that choice away.

Today RFK and co. removed the COVID vaccine from the CDC's recommended immunization schedule for children and pregnant people. This is junk science. COVID puts children and pregnant people at higher risk for ER visits and hospitalizations, and Long COVID can cause chronic health issues for anyone.

We should have a memorial day for COVID. It is horrific that we as a society have done virtually nothing to remember the millions who have died. Rushing to forget what happened also makes it much more likely that we will continue to repeat our deadly mistakes.

5 years ago, Karl-Anthony Towns lost his mother to COVID. Yesterday — which was Dominican Mother's Day — KAT saved the Knicks season, dedicating his performance to his mom 😭

5 years ago: “An incalculable loss” Today: Banning masks and restricting vaccine access

“COVID vaccines reduce the risk of becoming sick, developing long COVID and becoming hospitalized, for everyone. COVID continues to spread and cause harm. Limiting access to vaccines is an anti-science move that will kill more Americans.” - me in @huffpost.com

Collins: Why would you replicate studies that have been done? RFK: Because the only way you can get good science is through replication. Empowering charlatans who have strong biases against vaccines to conduct rigged studies is never good science.

Umm maybe Larry David shouldn’t go to the game tonight

For hundreds of years, most history-changing breakthroughs in science have been the result of international collaboration. Without international students, there are far fewer cures, treatments, inventions, and technological advances. Banning international students harms everyone.

Because they want to kill us, Congress voted to overturn a Clean Air Act regulation limiting toxic emissions from industrial facilities like refineries, chemical plants, and steel mills. This marks the first Congressional rollback of the landmark environmental law's protections since its creation.

If you are sincere about wanting to make America healthy, the last thing you should do is cause millions of people to lose health insurance.

From the comments: “I would not qualify for the COVID vaccine under these new regulations, but… I regularly visit my octogenarian parents in their retirement home, I work with young children… I should be able to get the vaccine to help minimize transmission and keep those around me safe.”

Mutual aid plays a critical role in reducing harm during times of government abandonment. However, when it comes to massive public health problems such as pandemics and the climate crisis, mutual aid alone is not enough. No matter how dark things get, we still need to fight for institutions.

NYC today 🔥

CDC platforms have stopped warning the public about disease spread. One of the CDC's main newsletters that alerts health professionals about outbreaks hasn't been sent since March. And most CDC social media accounts have gone over a month without posting their own new content.

MOOD

Everyone 6 months and older is eligible to get a flu vaccine. It makes no sense to restrict Covid vaccines to only people who have specific medical conditions. The FDA is basing its decisions on politics, not science.
