And as if to punctuate how close we're getting, I'm scheduled to get my first-ever professional author photo tonight at six in Brooklyn.

That may seem standard for a nonfiction book, maybe even a bit pokey, but for me, it's lightning speed.

Massive.

Ugh, I grew up in that era. No reason to revisit it....

Of course, I wrote this last post in jest. After years "Our Team" is still getting numerous reviews like these most recent ones every month on Goodreads and other sites. It's very heartening, and my hope is that "Moses and the Doctor" also finds an equally appreciative audience.

No. I'm not interested in games per se. I'm interested in the essence of what made those teams resonant.

If I ever find myself writing about the Yankees, I'll know it's time to hang it up....

The 68 series has been very well covered. I don't know--I love the angle that Halberstam used, contrasting the Cardinals and the Yankees at that moment of time. That's exactly what I would've wanted to do....

I'm such a huge Cardinals, but I just don't know if I'd be able to find a fresh angle on that franchise....

The solo Doc. But the Bird, Doc, Magic card is the one that we used as inspiration for the cover....

That card in the center of the second photo is in the running for coolest sports card of all time....

I did a long interview with Bobby Jones. Lots of him in there.

That's the first novel I read after my daughter was born and it matched the wonder I was feeling as a new parent. It's a miraculous work of fiction.

And second, the movie "Mountainhead" on HBO Max. It's shallow and preposterous and excessive, but man, is it ever entertaining. The dialogue crackles and there are so many sneakily funny lines. Just suppress your inner critic and enjoy the ride.

Ugh, should be "might not mean much." My posts could use a copy editor....

Great piece. Kudos.

The thing is, when I’m in the middle of writing, I fantasize about being at the copyediting stage. But by the time it finally arrives, I’m too exhausted to feel much joy.

Hope you enjoy it--coming February 2026.

Thanks! The cover designer killed it.
