You could have called it "Eunuch Powell".

Woah woah woah. I'm no Corbynista but jfc. How can you say that the counter argument hasn't been made by either party for the past decade?

And this. The countries she speaks of are the very countries she sees as backwards - countries whose "barbaric" cultures she is afraid are being imported into the UK. But that didn't occur to her. She didn't think past the headline thought.

The other things you mention are actually a much bigger deal for me personally, but I think the only one that will cut through - because he can't brush it off as "establishment" propaganda - is Brexit. His spearheading of it is etched into all our memories and we've lived the consequences.

despite then going on to use the headlines of journalists' editorialised interpretations as sources. And I'm sorry you and others have had to put up with that - talking about the science, biological fact and women's rights isn't the same as being bigoted towards people who identify as trans.

Hi Faye - I am disagreeing with James, despite agreeing with him on a lot. Katie, the caller, was right. James defaulted to the appeal-to-authority elitist assumption that ordinary people aren't capable of accessing and comprehending public-domain scientific literature, and must just be misinformed,

Just another observation/angle: 100% of TW brains fit into the CM phenotype, and ≈25% of TW brains fit only into the CM phenotype. Only ≈75% of TW brains fit into the CW phenotype, and 0% of TW brains fit only into the CW phenotype.

The articles you found didn't counter Katie's claim either - they just took a different headline from the studies: trans women's brains are closer to cis women's than cis men's are to women's brains; 25.5% closer. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC... Similar study: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

You can see that the average TW brain being more 'female' than the average CM brain is due solely to the most 'male' TW brains being more 'female' than the most 'male' CM brains - though, the majority of CM brains are still more 'female' than the most 'male' TW brains.

You'll notice that there are no cases of trans women's brains being more 'female' than the most 'female' cis men's brains & in no cases are trans women's brains like the most 'female' third of cis women's brains, i.e those that are uniquely female, entirely distinct from any cis mens' brains.

Katie knew her stuff, but you made a decision early on to assume she was the kind of person who would, say, go off a 2-second Google search... James. CM to TW: d=0.64 + TW to CW: d=1.87 = CM to CW: d=2.51 100%-(0.64/2.51 ≈ 25.5%) = 74.5% cis man/trans woman similarity (vs 0% CM/CW similarity)

Will his popularity matter? Getting a bit fed up with the self imposed media omerta as regards Trump's win. We're all thinking it.

I concur. The distinction needs to be made between the Russian administration and the Russian people - if it were any other country we'd all be at pains to do so. Imagine commenting this under an interview with an equivalent Israeli or Palestinian. (fuck Putin)

Conflict of interest ≠ problematic unless conflict of interest = corruption, so it's fair to assume there was suggestion of corruption

I know. The whole thing, I mean. Whether or not the allegations are true, it's clearly politically motivated otherwise they wouldn't have waited months until the day after he slagged off the leader to take action. Just hope this destroys all of them and Lowe doesn't gain momentum if he goes it alone

And doing so is addictive. You feel like you've got this hidden knowledge nobody else has got. You get it, nobody else does. You're the underground all-knowing rebel resistance.
