... just realized I forgor to mention her husband is an adopted son of Jak's dad, making them in-laws. A fact that she does not like to be reminded of.

I do realize how much I'm bombing the Bechdel test with this one LMAO

~Her husband's a psychic. When they first met he told her about a vision he had about having a son with her. She punched him immediately. ~Older son's name is Locke and is immunocompromised. She bought him a huge fluffy black jacket and blankets all over the house ~Daughter's name is Skipper :>

Fun facts? ~(Again because of Touhou) her main weapon used to be knives. After she got married her husband got tired of replacing them and bought her some brass knuckles, which she loves ~The emerald necklace she has is also a hubby's gift ~Her natural hair color is black
comment in response to post
...Uh, I was really into Touhou at the time, so I arbitrarily gave her the ability to stop time for a few seconds at a time. I don't have any origin for this power of hers, and honestly I think I'll keep it that way. Humans with innate magical abilities are rare, but present in my setting. Why Not
comment in response to post
She does soften up after getting married and having kids, though. Not that she won't break a person's arm if they hurt someone close to her. And incidentally, the original Magical Girl heroine I made for back then was retooled and reborn as her younger daughter uwu
comment in response to post
And honestly that's about as far as that iteration of her character went. It wasn't until she started interacting with my other OC's that she changed. So the transformation from redeemed villain to too stubborn for her own good protective friend. (Oh boy, does Lily need a friend like her...)

Alright time for Lily's roommate, October!.... no last name since the 2010's. As you can see she was a, uh, very different character. October's original role was to be the villain of the week to a Magical Girl series I was dreaming up at the time. A phantom thief with time powers who would reform

Oh yeah, my two favorite quirks about him is: ~He has NO sense of direction and WILL get lost if he's left on his own ~He is also pretty stupid, like Jak. For someone who enjoys gutting people he knows shockingly little about basic anatomy
comment in response to post
~The scarf is a gift from someone on the Surface (i.e., not Hell, which his Where His Is From) ~He doesn't actively use his pyrokinesis from his father, partially because he doesn't like being called a "half demon" like Jak. Flames will spill in intense times. ~He doesn't like fighting women.
comment in response to post
Other Fun Facts: ~His weapon of choice these days are large axes, although he aspires to wield his father's large weapon one day ~He's 5'3" because I have height envy lmao ~He finds out he's surprisingly fond of rabbits. As like, pets, not target practice. Jak's favorite meat is also rabbits though.

...So much so to the point that it's kind of the only way he knows how to express himself. He was taught to obey his mom no matter what and treat his lil bro like a punching bag. Or. Stabbing bag. His character development gets to happen when he's away from his abusive mom, surprise surprise.
comment in response to post
Less so because that's an actual part of his character arc and development. Which I guess I can blab about his background a bit. In both versions, he was raised along side Jak by his mother and father, until his father left them. From this point his mother encouraged Danny to be abusive and violent
comment in response to post
Although, I do kinda recall his design being heavily inspired from Bomberman Jetter's Max and MIghty. So I guess I see the glint of inspiration there? Current Danny is both more and less blood-psychopathic than his old incarnation. More so because he doesn't know any healthy coping skills.
comment in response to post
I swear to god, I started this thinking "There isn't much to say about Old Danny, he was Jak but Stronger and Evil." But then I looked at his notes from back then and it says shit like "If you get to befriend him, though, he's actually rather shy and cries often." Like I don't know this man????
comment in response to post
ALRIGHT BACK INNIT LET'S TALK ABOUT JAK'S BROTHER, DANNY!! I uh. Oh jeez this was something of a glow up wasn't it. I *knew* what Danny's old design looked like in my head but drawing it using the oldest reference I had...... sheeeeesh Anyway he inherited old Jak's Edge(tm)

I think it's society's fault, no lie. There's such an emphasis on spending time """""efficiently""""" (which art for some reason does not qualify for). But!! I'm still trying to unlearn that!!

*It's fair to say at this point that she tends to be attracted to just. Big Red Flags of guys. Probably has a bit of a "I can fix him" mentality *Lily stress-redecorates. Her friend and roommate just has to deal with this. *Chastity was a very fitting Virtue to give to her. She's *very* sex-squicked
comment in response to post
Other fun facts *She's vegetarian, but not for ecological or morality related reasons. She has a terrible fear of blood, to the point that even preparing meat is enough to trigger her senses. *She wanted to be a nurse originally. That didn't work out for what I hope are obvious reasons.

Anyway, she was really close to her single father growing up, but once she started writing home about making friends with a demon and eventually becoming an angel, he assumed she was mentally unwell. This miscommunication has unfortunately eroded their bond quite a bit.
comment in response to post
I thiiiink I still like the idea of her becoming an angel, because it's an interesting mix-up to her prior friendships and such, but I'd like to make it more of an active decision on her part.
comment in response to post
I should probably explain the wings since I described her as a human in the other post, huh? Yeah, so like Jak she went through a lot of roleplay sessions, and one Permanent Plot Point involved her being kidnapped and transformed into an angel, now to host the Virtue of Chastity
comment in response to post
I have less to say about her, because to be honest writing women is a weakness I have for some reason. She used to be super social, super bubbly, big Dumb, basically just Jak's foil. I mean, she's still his foil, but Differently. Now she's very caring, easily flustered, a bit anxious, and ...tall.

Next up for today: Lily Lambaurd! This is Jak's aforementioned previous love interest, now Friend who is a Girl. And she used to be part hedgehog because Sonic had me in it's clutches from childhood to still now. Origin fun fact: I was in detention, and I traced some grooves on a desk to draw her.
comment in response to post
I've dabbled with story ideas for him here and there, but aside from his Character Origin Story he's been kind of in limbo as far as an actual plot goes. I keep bouncing back and forth between wanting a slice-of-life and a cool shonen-ish adventure vibe.
comment in response to post
Some other fun facts, uh *He prefers to fight with knives held in reverse grip, because his father famously holds a broadsword in reverse grip *His fire spirit biology makes him enjoy alcohol, able to drink bottles despite his size *His favorite snack is strawberries, the first fruit he tasted
comment in response to post
He used to have the ability to hide in shadows make weapons out of them, limited only by his knowledge of how that specific weapon would be forged. And fire. Pretty important part of the half-fire spirit thing. That's been scrapped for writing/balance reasons. Just good ol pyrokinesis nowadays
comment in response to post
Well, after years of being wrung through so many roleplaying sessions, he's changed a lot. He's much less reliant on his Ladyfriend to see the positives in things, he actually gives a damn about protecting things, and generally became a more pleasant, if not troublesome and dumb, person to be around
comment in response to post
Back in the day he was (as was the style at the time) your standard "no talk me am danger" kind of supernatural love interest for the Sweet Human Girl OC(tm). He'd like, learn how to like humanity all because of this One Girl. Reminder that I was like, 14 at *most*
comment in response to post
Makes sense to me to start with one of my oldest ocs, Jak Tureus! When I was a kiddo he was a mess of half fire-spirit, half-demon, half-nightmaren, half-heartless... that kind of thing. Now it's down to just the first two halves lmao
