Perfect is the enemy of good. If one remote operator can replace 50 drivers, the economics is close enough to justify the hype. Typically driver cost is 40-50% of the cost of taxi operation. If you cut the cost to 1-3%, that's good enough.

Meillä on globaalilla tasolla kyky tarjota 25% suomalaisten elintasosta kaikille. Riittävää hyvään elämään, mutta me haluamme enemmän.

Hyvä kirjoitus. Sen vastapainoksi kannattaa lukea Keynesin ’Economic Possibilities for our Grandchildren (1930)’ www.aspeninstitute.org/wp-content/u...

Modern—post-modern axis? I think Rogan is a good example of post-modernism. Reality is just a construct.

Yarvin and neo-reactionary movement are cosplay-ideologues. Liberal background and lifestyle, neo-fascists with kids in progressive school. The X-generation has perfected the playful nihilist roleplay with ideas. We can do it with 100% intensity. Edgelords forever.

Full automation is rarely an economic advantage. If one remote operator can operate 50 near autonomous robotaxis, labor cost is not an issue. Same happens if there is one person per 10 to 100 robots in the factory floor.

FANUC (Japanese robot manufacturer) has had dark factory at least 20 years. Their robots make other robots alone without humans visiting the factory floor. They exist in other places too and are becoming common.

China has been the world's largest market for new industrial robots since 2013. Half of new robots go to China and the government invests heavily on automation. Robots per worker: 5. China, 6. Sweden. 🇫🇮 not in top 20 ifr.org/ifr-press-re... #robots #automation

GM had first real dark-factory up in 1982. Musk attempted the same in Tesla around 2016 and ended up manufacturing by hand in tents. Meanwhile, China is getting closer and closer. ...
