inversely i kinda think tarnished hong lu would not gaf about whatever nclairs up to, as long as he's not outright killing himself, but just cause i think hong lu in that state would believe they're so alike that she doesnt have a right to change the path sinclair's on.. just watch closely

i dont even know if i posted my long winded ramble on here about this either but baoyu (dotrc) also has an interesting relationship to maternity (and...? in a way does more motherly acts than fatherly) due to her ties to nuwa and the way she nurtured the flower into a girl and gives maids names

i was thinking, an aspect of conflict in their relationship would really mimic demian (book)'s idea of hating the one most alike you and dotrc bringing up how baoyu/daiyu's frustration/sadness settles in because of how close they are... a grudge wouldnt be so different from a debt, i think...
