I mean, this is shameful. It's not entirely clear which countries are mainly to blame, but it looks like the list must include major EU countries, and certainly not just Hungary and Slovakia.

... but he's been sidelining and excluding the EU from discussions about Ukraine, and now he's threatening to impose 50% tariffs on European goods, which would cut off nearly all trade with Europe. EU leaders should stop trying to appease Trump and tell him where to go.

This genocide, known in Circassian as "Tsitsekun", was one of the most horrific in modern European history. Two countries - Georgia and Ukraine - have now recognised the Circassian Genocide, and I hope more will follow.

Altogether, between 95% and 97% of the Circassian population was either killed in the 101-year-long war and its aftermath or forced into exile in the Ottoman Empire.

Has there been any change in reporting (or policy) in the U.S.? My impression is that the change in Europe has more to do with the relationship with the U.S. (and particularly Trump) than with anything that's happened in the Middle East. It's good that they're finally speaking the truth, though.

The New Yorker did a great article on Peter Thiel if anyone's interested. Chilling, but definitely worth a read. He's super intelligent and really fascinating, but extremely dangerous. web.archive.org/web/20250427...

The number of people killed is unknown. The official death toll is only 187, and the government blames them on "armed criminals", but other sources claim the number of casualties was far higher, and may have been over 1,500. www.rferl.org/a/Former_Uzb...
