Oh the anticipation!

An enjoyable couple of hours spent today in All Saints Church Holbeton, arranging a mix of supermarket, hedgerow and garden flowers.

Currently travelling to Kingsbridge in a #Stagecoach bus Co time machine!

Oh, that is so relatable! Thanks @robinince.bsky.social‬

"Fun videos" - really? A new low.

What do patients think about the pressures that doctors (in this case resident anaesthetists) experience? See: associationofanaesthetists-publications.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/... Written as a commentary on: associationofanaesthetists-publications.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

Wonderful news - can't wait to see it take shape.

Just wonderful 👇 Worth listening to all of the clip - even more powerful than the necessarily truncated quote.

How quickly another year passes! Flowers near the Norman font and in the Lady Chapel in All Saints' Church #Holbeton in memory of my mother who died 27 years ago this week.

Just brilliant!

Sometimes seeds germinate in the wormery. A while back, I saw what looked like courgette seedlings and thought "Ah - free courgettes this year". So much for my botanical ID skills. Not free courgettes but a free Christmas nectarine tree a few years later!

A couple of enjoyable hours spent in local churches: at All Saints Holbeton to help with the Christmas flowers, and at St Bartholomew's Yealmpton for the Christmas Tree Festival. The WI tree had a theme of 'Peace on Earth' with lots of doves made and decorated by WI members. My humble effort shown.

I've no words for how wrong this is ............

"There are an estimated 2.9m people in England with malnutrition. Hospital admissions resulting in nutrition-related diagnoses in England increased by more than 39% over the past decade. Malnourished children are being treated for scurvy, bow legs, rickets and heart murmurs."

Another good account to follow if you like this sort of thing. Another post of this somewhere had a caption along the lines of: "Wow, just look at Stan's stick!"

So true!!! P.S. Follow this account for uplifting stuff.

Re current IHT hoo-ha. Important points about relatively harsh treatment of "climate protesters who used similar tactics who are are doing time", and "fair-weather friends, protecting their vast wealth by piggybacking on to the farmers’ understandable anxieties". But what about supermarket profits?

Watch this space - optimistically.

I grew up in the Midlands calling this a 'pikelet' but down here in Plymouth it's called a 'crumpet'. I assumed it was a regional thing but research on t'Internet is revealing. Best comment: "A crumpet has height and a fluffy internal texture. A pikelet is a hocky puck of misery and disappointment."
