To tell the truth, I'm not entirely convinced I don't often behave as a hotheaded and blundering asshole now and deserve to be considered as such. That's at the age of 62. But I most definitely was an bigtime asshole when I was 25 years old. Maybe that's a wee bit of the problem here... 2of2

Not sure. It's complex. IMHO (and WTF do I know?) it's indicative of splintering and in-fighting within the Dem party when some people think solidarity signaling is now the main thing. Attached the "live" link versus a screen cap, as it's more informative. 1of2

And the members of this genre, what are they teaching us? What is their lesson?

"Satire is a lesson, parody is a game," said Vladimir Nabokov. So you tell me, young Dustin, what is it that you have taught any of us here?

Implicit sarcasm (if that's what this is?) exemplified here is just a shit take in these times. You're not cool. Just fucking stop it.

What's the video, though?

But what point did he go on to make? Was it some sort of pro-Trump statement?

Kind of a shame to associate that song with the orange one, but whatever works. Loved this band and DavyJo too. Thanks!

What exactly is "all of the z?"

Seems like it. Why would a journalist at his level of accomplishment and in their right mind make this shit up?

And considering the circumstances, they could easily be lying their asses off.

Not sure. Not an expert, or even medium-informed, as regards the subject material. Seems like it would be a more clear cut case had he pilfered or through sketchy means acquired the info, but seems like it's a different situation when he "acquired" the info because they were all dumb asses.

It was his sense of civic responsibility and patriotism. Something the idiots who were using Signals for this high-level conversation are clearly devoid of.-2/2

Point taken. Probably true. In this day and age the legal jeopardy would no doubt be pumped up out of a sense of retribution. The laudable thing about his behavior and the ironic wackiness of the administration's top figures' behavior is that it wasn't the law that stopped him from reporting it-1/2

It's not a "can't" as much as it's a "won't," and, honestly, for some very good reasons. The journalist in question just needs to call Nick Fury here on his bullshit.

Lamb is way too overlooked as a protein option, imho. And not just with Indian cuisine.

I mildly disagree with the guy from time to time. I agree with often, too. And it takes a mensch to admit when they are wrong these days. (and those days, too) Thanks for sharing!

And let's not even start with his thwarted opinions about rock and roll and pop music. He walked back that Indian food comment, as I recall.

Is he though? I thought part of the Putinesque Russia remake was to disavow the former communist party-line's embrace of atheism and embrace, regardless of how bullshit it is, Christianity.

And so your suggested course of action is? This seems very much like a re-litigation of spilled milk. Not to be argumentative. I don't disagree with anything you're saying, but I'm not quite sure why you're saying. What should be done moving forward?

All that is difficult to map back to your original reply. Seemed like you were saying "Elon trying to buy votes with $100 is no different than the Dems proposing policy supportive to the middle class. That seems to lack nuance. Nihilistically so. So you said what you said. That's not my fault.

Either I don't quite understand the point you're trying to make. Or I detect a shit take.

I've been so depressed & anxious that I've fallen out of my writing-about-music project. But I'm trying to get back up on the horse. Please encourage me! LOL. And do check out the archived posts. Some fun stuff. Paid subscriptions are not my emphasis, although if one is inclined, not turned away.1/2

I have Chris Frantz's Remain in Love on my reading list. In that book, he apparently goes into some detail about how a lot of the band's classic songs were more of a team effort than the casual observer would think. I need to get around to that one soon.

Although, to be fair, he was also a bit of a spotlight grabber during that band's tenure. The other three core musicians and the extended supporting cast that was brought on board during their various permutations were no lightweights. Artistically genius rarely shines all by itself.

I didn't realize that there were little clusters and forums on this platform. I just let the feed wash over my brain. Maybe I should watch an online tutorial about the best way to navigate the finer parts of the UI.
