A big sigh of relief. I just finished up my largest handwoven blanket to date, coming in at a finished size of 71”x 102”. Maybe not the most complex structure, but definitely the my most challenging for me so far. Woven double-width in a hand-dyed warp. #weaving #wandwoven #fiberarts

Today in “bending the knee just makes it easier for fascists to kick you in the ass”

Seems like a good time to re-post this thread: We are gonna be snappy with one another, fam! We all are on hiiiiigh alert with everything going on Assume positive intent when you can Good faith questions with reasonable answers Don’t take shit but don’t make shit neither Ok? We need each other.

being intimidated by bluesky is so funny. yeah i keep getting my ass kicked every time i go to bath and body works

My cautious friend, when you hear them say (and you will hear them say) they can’t believe they just can’t believe that Covid is back, you must resist the urge to tell them that it never left, instead just be grateful that they are willing to acknowledge it at all.

i have $15 in tips. can i get $85 more? this will allow me to 1) get more meds that help me with carpal tunnel 2) get more dog food and cat food 3) help my friend get her car out of the impound (she's just $30 short now) 4) get some groceries i need to make dinner

The speed of writing code has never, and will never be the bottleneck. The bottleneck, the limiting factor, is always in the thinking about the code and how it works, understanding it. People who use chatgpt to write code are literally removing the only part of programming that is actually useful.

Interesting strategy to make america healthy again

If a political party will only stand up for ideas that are popular, then pours millions into engineering public opinion that aligns with their own spineless agenda, what good are they?

We’re still years away from knowing the full effects of even a single infection. I find it hard to believe that everyone just forgot that some viruses take years to fully manifest. #CovidIsntOver

hate seeing ostensibly Blue people cheer things like the gutting of medicaid

Ferengis in June.

being chronically ill is still so strange... you’re almost never “in crisis” enough to alarm people, but you’re never really okay either. the symptoms are so much, and you want to tell someone, but it just becomes normal. you have to get used to it, even though you don’t want to. #NEISvoid

I’m doing a lot better now but my life is still really, really small. I wish more people understood what Mori is saying here. With chronic illness you exist in a compassion gap. You exhaust other people & even medical professionals by being honest. #NEISVoid #ChronicIllness #MECFS #LongCovid

Shit sucks but at least there's yaoi

The fact that wildfire smoke and sahara dust may increase N95 use in the US and thereby slow the brain eating/heartstopping virus for a week or so is classic 2025.

I was turned away at my pharmacy today from getting a Covid vaccine. Even though I was willing to risk a sore shoulder Makary and Prasad felt I shouldn’t have that right. They made the decision for me. My medical freedom and bodily autonomy meant nothing to them.

Doylestown Resident’s Future Uncertain Due to Proposed Medicaid Cuts Supported by Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick | “People will die,” warns Melissa Rinker, who has over 20 chronic illnesses and relies 100 percent on Medicaid for medication and monthly doctor's visits. #BucksCounty #PA01 #Medicaid

I teach a game writing class. Students have scripts, worldbuilding docs, treatments, etc due every week About half the class used ChatGPT last semester even though I made it clear using an LLM = an F. When I asked why a studio would ever hire them if their work was just ChatGPT, they seemed stunned

Anyone have an extra $20 so I can make another order tonight? I need kitchen supplies. linktr.ee/jskylerinc

Then why was ICE there? The gaslighting by the mayor and law enforcement is astonishing.

Yet another devasating move with global ramifications Trump Budget Eliminates Funding for Crucial Global Vaccination Programs @apoorvanyt.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2025/06/04/h...

A better headline would be "Washington Post plans to eliminate nearly all jobs," but we can't have precision in our language, apparently.

I mean obviously this is blatantly wrong and only a soundbite to please their shareholders, but: NO ONE has once answered my question. WHY SHOULD WE EXPECT PEOPLE TO ENGAGE WITH SOMETHING THAT NO ONE BOTHERED TO MAKE.

People suddenly gave this a lot of love o tumblr and reminded me of this! I was still finding my footing, but I do still like how it looks! #Spirk #StarTrekFanart [Originally posted Sept, 2022]

Air quality has become one of my special interests and after doing a deep dive into information about it, I’ve only gotten more and more frustrated how little public education or urgency there is. I use the EPA’s AirNow app but any warnings we do get is paltry at best. I’ll thread some recs below 👇

Crazy idea, I know, but maybe we could reduce our dependence on data centres AND meat consumption? (Like, this argument used in support of AI, is stupid whataboutism, but on its own makes a good point about the destructive nature of the beef industry).
