So I'm guessing Firefox might have been providing the flag emojis by itself and now it doesn't?… Some social sites like Twitter and Mastodon render emojis as custom images and Bluesky so far has relied on the native support in the font

No problem :) Yeah, I'm seeing the flags just fine.
AFAIR Windows just doesn't ship flag emojis at all for some reason (on principle), never did, it's possible that something changed in Firefox recently
