I feel like we saw enough Arch last year to reasonably conclude that he’s really talented and will probably be very good, and also that he wasn’t all the way baked through and wasn’t operating the full playbook yet (he basically exclusively threw bombs and held the ball too long)

My iPad basically single handedly justified its purchase price burning through GoT episodes on the stair master at the gym. Worth considering!

The author of the definitive guidebook to Colorado’s 14k foot peaks has a great rant on this at the end of the book. “A foot was the length of some old king’s foot. I can identify with that because my foot is just about the same length as his foot….I have a foot. I do not have a meter.”

Yeah that’s sovereign immunity

I am very upset about this proposal so I don’t want to downplay it, HOWEVER: the map and the 250m acre number is the land eligible for sale. The provision mandates the sale at least 2m and up to 3m acres (0.5 to 0.75% of BLM/USFS holdings). Obviously, even that is too much and it won’t stop there.

Bullet points here a giveaway that he likely wrote this with AI assistance lol

It should have been in the printed version that they were socialing, and the fact that the piece was updated to add that disclosure should also have been disclosed!
comment in response to post
In the sense that the article initially failed to disclose it (because it was apparently a repackaged transcript from an audio episode that DID disclose it, without that disclosure making into this piece), and then the article was updated to disclose it without disclosing the update.

The article was updated after the initial post

“You can’t be a serious critic if you’re in denial about how useful it is,” but you CAN be a serious NYT tech journalist if you fail to disclose that your boyfriend, who you reference as an AI power user, works for an AI company. Very funny to hold Bluesky to a higher standard!

Political campaigns probably do need more than the stars & stripes though www.latimes.com/opinion/stor...

There are people (all of whom live online) who demand more accountability and compliance from random social media posters than elected Democrats, I don't think it's really possible to have a dialogue with them

yeah iterating yearly is very different from building from ground up, and three years is a short dev cycle in modern game dev

You know who was really rudderless? The crew of the HMS Surprise when they had their steering tackle shot away by the treacherous French

I would also throw money at John Muir to write about any park he wanted

As best I can tell, one person said “wow the work I’m doing is so important,” and another person said “I’ve been doing this work for longer but go off,”

Imagine if the slave states reacted to Lincoln’s election as an existential threat to the institution of slavery

Even Yellowstone National Park costs taxpayers one-third of an F-35 fighter jet each year. It's literally the best fucking deal in the entire federal government - generating 50 billion dollars in tourist revenue every year for an investment of only $3 billion.

T2 is good! But it suffers from terminal 80s movie with annoying kid sidekick syndrome. Also Arnold Terminator is more effective and scary as the antagonist than a bodyguard
comment in response to post
T2 has its moments but yeah T1 is special, just on a different level. They don’t make them like those anymore

Yeah like I suppose we could go back to what I was doing as an 18-22 year old pre-streaming, which was torrenting everything on the P4K best-of lists over my dorm WiFi but I don’t think that’s what folks have in mind
