"A very well-known guy in foreign affairs—big guy—came up to me and said, 'Sir, it's so brave what you're doing. So smart. You're not breaking with Putin. Even if he did a bad thing to you. You're giving him time so he'll do the right thing. No one else would do this. Takes guts. Lots of guts.'"

A neat fact about Paul Ingrassia is that according to LinkedIn, his legal experience consists of 16 months as a law clerk at two separate firms. Then he became a writer for the Gateway Pundit, which he was doing as recently as January. He graduated law school three years ago. Things are great.

Children in Gaza Are Starving. Let the UN Do Its Job: The new mechanism is incompatible with humanitarian principles, including neutrality, impartiality and independence, and fails to meet Israel’s obligations under international humanitarian law. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/29/o...

Walt Whitman was the original selfie king. Long before Instagram, he staged portraits to craft his image — even faking a butterfly landing on his finger. In his lifelong search for the “real Me,” the more images he collected, the more he seemed to lose himself in their contradictions

Intentional deceit, sheer incompetence, or ChatGPT shenanigans we will just never know with these dumbasses

Unlike Columbia's president

He spent a year writing for Gateway Pundit, which should be disqualifying for any job, much less this one.

Realism views power as the most important factor in world politics, but it also emphasizes that even powerful states will pay a price if they defy existing rules too often or too egregiously, columnist @stephenwalt.bsky.social writes.

"Is the reproductive justice movement one that stands against wars and genocide, or not? Do our funders stand with us in that call for peace, or not? Is it reproductive justice for all, or not?" — @renee.bsky.social prismreports.org/2025/05/28/r...

"I can't believe I have to say this: Apartheid is wrong. Theocracy is wrong. Segregation is wrong. Genocide is wrong. They were wrong in South Africa and the United States, and they are wrong in Israel. They are wrong everywhere. Denying health care is wrong."

And the sad part is, people will let it happen because being addicted to having fun is more important than caring about the rights of others

"Is there a middle ground between killing all trans people and letting trans people live their lives that lets Democrats win elections? I say yes. Just keep trans people in the closet, problem solved." - Every media outlet and most cis liberals

hey @mommunism.bsky.social is trust and safety flagging the "Verified by Molly Shah ✅" string that palestinians have been using in their profiles? asking because i just saw one where it was all broken up like they were doing web application firewall filter evasion 🫠

They were too busy censuring Rashida Tlaib

Has a single member of Congress, or a single Democratic official anywhere in the country, commented on the fact that we now have multiple articles alleging that a Democratic member of the Senate compared an entire race of humans to a sour carton of milk and said "kill them all"

CLAIM: Hamas is blocking aid & hiding in hospitals. FACT: Israeli govt is blocking aid & has provided 0 evidence of Hamas being in even 1 of the 110 hospitals & medical centers it has bombed in Gaza. These are war crimes. Why are we tolerating these atrocities? www.qasimrashid.com/p/hiding-in-...

We are at that horrifying moment when the word genocide is no longer adequate to describe what the Israeli Govt is doing to Palestinians. When we look at the textbook definition of holocaust, it seems undeniable that what we are witnessing is in fact a holocaust. www.qasimrashid.com/p/holocaust

the people here probably already know this but really spread this far and wide: tell your normal offline friends and family to stop using ChatGPT for legal advice. it's happening constantly now. I'm always explaining to people why the advice this silly thing gave them is not real legal advice.

Democrats remain vulnerable to the right's framing on an endless series of ginned-up moral panics. Dems' instinct is always to meet the right halfway on whatever bullshit they've cooked up. This is a result of not have their own policy platform beyond diet fascism and slightly less corruption.

"Just as Hamas has agency, so does Israel. Israel has not been 'forced' to do anything. Israel has made its own choices."

Anyway I think the other thing that's been bothering me is that if I knew absolutely for a fact that something was illegal, but it benefited people who were being genocided, the absolute last thing I would do if I had a massive platform with tens of thousands of followers is *CALL ATTENTION TO IT.*

Anyway there are law practices in the US who focus entirely on helping people send money to places like Iran, Yemen, Russia, and yes, the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Turns out people want to send money home legally, and there are lawyers who help them do that. 🤔

If @bsky.app really cared about making the world a better place, they'd sort out a way of supporting Palestinians in their time of need. Because, truly, all of our freedoms are improved by a free Palestine. Sakher did everything he could to be a good BlueSkyer & he's still been suspended.

Oh look! He was set up, as we suspected. Could not have been more obvious from the absurd letter. Will @MarshaBlackburn issue a retraction? 🤔 www.cnn.com/2025/05/29/p...

Today would have been Heather Heyer’s 40th birthday.

Couldn't agree more with this. It's jaw-dropping to see the patty cake people are playing with him after what was a full constitutional assault that, oh by the way, is almost certainly going to lead to tens of thousands of people in the global south dying needlessly.

Canada welcomes the U.S. Court of International Trade’s decision on the United States’ tariffs. It confirmed what we’ve always held: that the American tariffs against Canadian goods are unlawful and unjustified.

I think the foxes have been listening to the squirrels.

"Power worship blurs political judgement because it leads, almost unavoidably, to the belief that present trends will continue." - Orwell, 1946 That's popularism, with its embrace of the status quo. Popularism, or status quoism, is fundamentally an ideology of power worship.

SCOOP: Sahil Lavingia, who says he was fired from DOGE after speaking out about his experiences there, told WIRED about how he communicated with the group, who appears to be in charge, and what might be coming next.

Mumbai police continue to bravely wage the war on news.

Trump announces a press conference with Elon Musk and says “he will, always, be with us, helping all the way.”

"The [UN Human Rights Office] ... highlighted the killings of numerous other civilians by Israelis, including the field execution of a family in December of 2023 and the killing of Adnan Al Bursh, a well-known orthopedic doctor at Al-Awda Hospital, in Israeli custody last year."

That there are still people claiming that Israel is not carrying out genocide just boggles the mind. Ditto for anyone claiming Joe Biden didn't help them do it.

Just gonna leave this here
