It hasn't always been like this historically. Some societies even today believe that people have the right to housing, food, and healthcare.

I am not sure I can explain it to a kindergarten kid. We live in a capitalist society, which means employers are more powerful than employees. The government listens to them and the media speaks on their behalf. Even our social values are adapted to fit their interests.

China, Japan, India, Korea and many other countries make development plans about their future. Canada has always depended on the market and the United States.
This has to change. I don't think Poilievre has the mindset to do this and I'm not sure about Carney.

Its money has been spent on foreign misadventures, like wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that cost several trillion dollars. All the while the average American pays more for healthcare and education than Europeans.
