Can confirm. Our local cd store had a small section for gregorian chant even. I think it was displaced by Putamayo records. But it's worse than that, some of us even got roped into singing it badly, in the ultimate form of monastic larping.

Something that, if I didn't get directly from Jonathan, at least was strongly influenced by that same blog, is the practice I keep today with my own students of striving to demystifying all the gatekeeping arcane-ness of academia. And I know Jonathan helped a ton of folks one-on-one.
