You'd think that 13 billion global COVID vaccinations would be enough testing, but evidently not.

It just reads like something you’d see on Fox News. He speaks matter-of-factly on the perspective of ICE without pointing out the illegality of their tactics or the human toll.

That might be what you believe you’re doing, but what you’re actually doing is being abusive and obnoxious. Is that the brand you’re going for? If you really need to spew vitriol, there are plenty of people on Twitter who are more deserving.

You're welcome! I got into film noir about 10 years ago. When people ask me what I like about it, I tell them I like that everyone agreed Nazis are bad.

After several weeks, this framing shifted to discuss thematic issues like police brutality. Seems like we're still in the "conflict" framing of the LA protests. I haven't been watching 24/7, but I've only seen cars on fire, no discussion of the illegal deportations leading to the protests.

He started out the answer to that question with "It doesn’t have anything to do with Obama." I think he's right that the divisiveness is due to the right's fear, but that he underestimated (as I did) how fearful white people are about what Obama represented: an America not dominated by white men.

The whole interview here. It's mostly about writing but that part jumped out at me.

"They’re afraid that immigrants are going to swamp the economy. And on the other side, there are all of those people who say, 'Maybe there’s a way to embrace these things, and maybe we need to give up our right that anybody can buy a gun.' They’re basic arguments."
