Woah. Chief Justice Roberts has issued a rare statement. "For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision. The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose." Quite a slap-down of Trump.

Well.

Overall view, fwiw. US still has a constitutional crisis. And there is still bad and mad stuff happening there. But. The courts are not surrendering, and the crisis may begin to abate. Thereby situation not (yet) hopeless. Still could get (far) worse, of course, but not necessarily so.

I do hope European leaders understand what is happening here. Trump and Putin are carving up Ukraine and making fundamental decisions on the future of Europe--and not a single European leader is taking part in the call.
