I paid for a random guy's coffee once after he let me go in front of him in line and he got 6 shots. But he was a chef so that makes sense. Chefs are wild.

My favorite joke since I was 8 years old: Why did the computer programmer die in the shower? Because the shampoo bottle says "lather, rinse, repeat"

Seriously I was 40 years old before someone said to me "wow your mom sounds really abusive". Until then it hasn't occurred to me that I could do something about that.

Not only did I tell my mother, but my father ALSO told her. She denied doing the thing we were both complaining about. You think she'd have learned when my brother had ALREADY cut her off, but no.

scare quotes /ˈsker ˌkwōts/ noun quotation marks used around a word or phrase when they are not required, thereby eliciting attention or doubts. "putting the term “global warming” in scare quotes serves to subtly cast doubt on the reality of such a phenomenon

I LOVE Sense8 but there is definitely a decent amount of violence in it.

You can just tell that he saw some woman had bought a house and he hasn't, and he's super jealous over it

I mean, that's true in a way. Every time I've encountered a bear in the woods in real life it's been running away as fast as it could. 🤷‍♀️

Whenever my dog has an accident in the house, he slinks around looking guilty before I've even found the puddle. I didn't know he'd done anything yet!

My daughter got suspended in high school after she whipped off her bra and bopped a boy over the head with it for saying gross shit to girls. His mom was "alarmed at the violence" done to her 6-foot son by my 90lb daughter's padded bra 🙄

Exactly. How dare she go on dates when she had kids! Bad mother! And it's all HER fault for going out with the wrong guy! But also how dare we be concerned for our own safety because I'M nice and also this doesn't really happen anyway. So freaking exhausting.

Flashing back to all the times I was scolded for quietly reading in a corner instead of socializing

Is the riddle "who is the goodest boy??"
comment in response to post
I can think of at least two recent cases in Seattle where a woman on a date was murdered and how there were SO MANY COMMENTS about how she had kids and should have been more careful 🙄

Seriously it's been 20 years and I still have to remind myself I can buy sheets that aren't black or gray, because my spouse now doesn't feel emasculated by floral sheets

Yeah don't tell him shit. His living situation is HIS problem. He's a grown ass adult, he can act like one.

This is right up there with that guy who was like "I'll do anything for a woman but not the DISHES omgwtfbbq. "I'll doff my fedora and call her m'lady but god forbid I pick up my socks off the floor"

Hmm I wonder why they complain that they're lonely. It is a mystery.

My spouse thinks I'm the hot one. I think he's the hot one. I guess it all works out!

So... not ANYTHING then. He literally saying he'll only do SOME things.

Well you haven't told him "snort my taint" yet that's all

My c-section was planned, for medical reasons, so my spouse was allowed in for it... AFTER they gave me the spinal. The anesthesiologist said WAY too many dudes pass out just watching that part. Also got to see where they pull your whole uterus out and lay it on your abdomen in a reflection. Easy!

My mother also threw a fit because we "ignored" her all day on our honeymoon. She still doesn't understand why neither of her kids talk to her.

If you ask for specifics, they say it's just a FEELING in their HEART and a bunch of vague generalities about how they just KNOW you're a kind and trustworthy and genuine person and fate is MYSTERIOUS don't you know? Source: the romance scammers in my DMs.

But basically the investigation had concluded, and then he contested it so they said they'd re-open the case and at that point he chose to resign. He would have been removed regardless; there was far too much evidence.

In any case, I don't feel it was "concealment" so much as incompetence. There's no file they keep on complaints, so when he was verbally abusive to staff it was always treated like a one-off thing, or he was "just joking around" or a "he said she said" thing.

There were no children involved in this case. I do not have further information on the current board's plans.

Ugh I cannot express my contempt for "sometimes you just have a connection with someone". No dude, a connection takes two people. You just have dumbass pantsfeels.

As a person who saw ALL the emails he was investigated over, it is also baffling to me how it went on for so long. I cannot have been the first person to have receipts.

I have a congenital heart problem that I told my husband about early on (and you can't miss the scar from my first OHS anyway). For my second OHS he sat by my bed stroking my hair nonstop for over an hour, because if he stopped I would try to rip out my breathing tube.

Omg SAME. Also it turned out I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide so that was like 90% of the acne medication available in the 80s. Now it's just warm water + muslin cloth and micellar water if I put makeup on that day.
