I've wanted to play this for so long, Westone games are always so good and well animated, I love their look!!! I popped off so hard when I saw the trailer, and this localization looks amazing and I absolutely cannot wait!

I'm still smiling about it, and it happened last night. It really meant the world to me!

Some people have told me they heard my voice as femme from the start but it definitely sounds a certain way in my head. Living in Florida I don't (can't) do much of, if any, proper voice training, but apparently whatever I'm doing is working well enough. I'm over the moon happy. ❤️

I'm proud of you for being strong enough to take a step back when you know you need it. You're a fantastic person and a fantastic entertainer, and if you find your joy with this space and decide to start up again, I'll be right here waiting to see you at your best! ❤️

Heck yeah! I'm still super impressed, it's the perfect portable game!

AND A SWITCH VERSION???? AMAZING! (Does the switch version support mouse/mouse mode on switch 2? just curious!)

I like the ones where they continue talking about deltarune but have like a visceral reaction to Randy pitchford being on screen like "Oh my god I cant wait, deltaru- eugh, randy- deltarune!!!"

He can say what he wants but he got on stage with a trump-era slogan on his hat, colored in musk black and white, and is now giving the most half-hearted statement about not apologizing? nah this should've been a full PR reversal but he doubled down I want this out of my steam library immediately

nope

the demo had almost exclusively AI voices in it, the devs addressed it and said that they'd replace all the AI voices with real voices by release, and then the trailer *had AI voices in it* so.... idk
comment in response to post
I DOWNLOADED THIS LITERAL SECONDS AFTER THE REVEAL OF IT BEING LIVE I was backer number ~700ish (no doxing number!), I'm so excited, I played the demo with a gigantic smile on my face the entire time I CANNOT WAIT for the full game!!!

I'd done the same, i thought it was okay, i'm just so so thankful i didn't end up spending money on it like i was going to

mario odyssey did get a free patch on switch 2 to enable 4k and HDR tho! really nice actually

the SNES was meant to have backwards compatibility but then they were like "actually, never mind" and canceled it but yeah until the ps2 it wasn't something considered standard; like Atari did it with the 5200/7800 but that was basically an accident that it worked more than anything

it's true, they should've had a smaller cart available, that definitely hindered things but given the choice between a digital copy i could never sell vs. a physical copy that i COULD sell (even if i have to download it), i'd definitely pick the key card. i know im not everyone though
comment in response to post
Oh for sure lol a lot of people say they also played wave race on launch but that didn't come out for almost 2 months
comment in response to post
YEP i played Pokemon Gold on my GBA for way longer than anyone should have before I got a GBA game... and my first GBA game? Tony Hawk 2 lmao
comment in response to post
Oh i get that; there's a definite fear that 20 years later the Switch backend will be down and those key carts won't be usable which is *valid*; but also in 20 years time the Wii eshop is still up and available for redownloads; so at least there's someone at the company that's forward-thinking

I remember getting an n64 on launch day and having the absolute wealth of choices for games, like, look at this amazing list 1) Super Mario 64 2) Pilotwings 64

But the average person isn't actually preserving these games- they're not out there with a rom dumper or CFW pulling each version of a game downloaded to their consoles To a lot of people, "Preservation" means "Having a game on my shelf sealed in a box"; which does no one any good anyway
comment in response to post
But is specifically physical preservation really something that we have to stress about this deeply at this point? Not to disregard your point because it is important but with the mindset and tech we have now, there's not a tangible difference (afaik) between a physical cart vs. a rom dump of a cart
comment in response to post
You're looking at it from the perspective that it's a downgrade from purely physical, 100% on-disc games I'm looking at it from the perspective that it's an upgrade from digital-only releases or consumable keys, which *already* had the issues with preservation that you mention
comment in response to post
I don't understand how game key cards would harm preservation more than digital-only releases or consumable keys would. And coming from the direction of "is this consumer friendly or not" key cards are much more consumer friendly. Given a choice between key card and digital-only, i'd choose key card
comment in response to post
oh yeah for sure, it's definitely a little more complicated for what would be considered a "power user"; but from the idea of a family with a few switches that might not know all the cool tricks, it's a lot easier to understand you don't need to buy multiple copies of a (singleplayer) game
comment in response to post
for *every* release? yeah that'd suck but even now after the facts are out people are still demonizing it and calling it anti-consumer when it's the exact opposite
comment in response to post
virtual game cards are just a way to clarify purchases made within a family imagine Mom has a Switch and she buys all the games there, there's now a virtual "shelf" the kids can point to and say "I want this on my switch" and she can give it to them It's just an easier to understand game sharing
comment in response to post
I get that yeah. But the fact these are clearly marked, in multiple ways, that they're key cards; and are what would otherwise be digital-only downloads, AND you can trade them to other people... this is a really good thing for consumers, much better than the alternatives
comment in response to post
THE PHYSICAL CARTS EVEN HAVE A LITTLE KEY ON IT SO YOU KNOW, EVEN WITHOUT A BOX
comment in response to post
like it's outside of the scope of this thread but people are talking about how the brand-new switch 2 is really expensive when the other console manufacturers literally raised the msrp of their 5-year-old consoles a couple months ago like where's the heat for that
comment in response to post
there are so many of these games that would've been just digital-only releases and that would've pissed people off so then maybe they would've put out a plastic box with a code in it, further pissing people off but now you have a thing you can have and trade in if you want it's a win-win
comment in response to post
anyway sorry for big controversial thread im just extremely curious why people are getting so vitriolic over this for the switch 2 when it's been something companies have been doing for at least 15 years now and when the key cards are a better solution than paper key codes in plastic boxes
comment in response to post
There's a website called www.doesitplay.org that shows every game for every console that can be played directly off the disc with no update, and if not, what steps need to be taken to play it; this was made because this situation is so confusing nintendo just took the guesswork out of it 🤷
comment in response to post
i don't wanna harp on the fact that other console manufacturers have been doing this too; i just think it's very *very* pro-consumer to get rid of the disposable/consumable keys, AND clearly label what games are not playable out of the box no one else is doing this, this is a big step
comment in response to post
another group of people i see concerned about it are physical game collectors worried about their collections devaluing/degrading; to which i say... don't buy the game key cards- again, clearly labeled. if there were no game key cards then there would be no shelf presence to collect anyway, no loss
