KBJ’s dissent in the injunction deserves to be canonical. I’ll confess I find it extremely irritating that the majority says, in effect, they don’t get it. “What’s going on there. Why is she being weird. We’re doing law here.” She is smarter and knows more about law than they do.

this court says that allowing EPA to regulate carbon emissions is a "major question" that demands congressional debate. but allowing the president to, with a flick of the wrist, end a straightforward constitutional right is something that must be allowed to stand?

I watched all of Rick Steves in Europe 3x over during lockdown and adore our light academia Anthony Bourdain. His soft spoken pleas for a Universal Liberalism are poignant and are innocuously placed in a PBS “travel but for boomers” show

Lander: "It's just gross, racist bigotry. Meanwhile he's running an optimistic, upbeat campaign for a NY where everybody belongs, and I feel proud as the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in NYC to be supporting somebody who would be the first Muslim mayor—what could be more NYC than that?"

i'm rereading the Reactionary Mind and forgot how much Corey Robin hates Ayn Rand (complimentary)

Why is everyone mad at New York? Isn’t Mamdani just young Bernie Sanders but Muslim? Oh.

I still am digesting how insane it is that Cuomo became the “fighting antisemitism” candidate. I guess it’s great that Lander didn’t have to be in that fight, but my god what a Shonda.

I think the best trilogy of films is the Master trilogy: The Master (2012), The Master of Disguise (2002), and Master and Commander: Far Side of the World (2003)

movies are good!

centrists constantly complain about the left being insufficiently partisan and then line up behind a Democrat who handed the state Senate to Republicans and then gerrymandered the state to their benefit
