Yes I have heard the charges for the full service here, is less than what they pay for insurance premiums in US.

And just realized the Kobalt rechargeable lawn mower battery from Rona is not certified. The charger for it has CSA. I thought shopping local meant it was safe.

On the battery. And CE on charger. Which is from China.

I read a news report about a woman in Canada whose Rad e bike caught fire while she was riding it. That is a reputable brand. Due to fire risk Our office won’t allow e-bikes in the building, so deters people from commuting by e-bike.

Would stronger sustainable living lobby groups help swing things?

That is why the art installations on the boulevards are such a great idea I think! Add some colour and design that can withstand the harsh environment

Do they have a video on the one with thin bars for only a front wheel on a bike without a front basket? That is far worse than the wave.

I don’t know your rules but if the kids are born in USA, after they turn 18, can they not apply to sponsor their parents? Or would they have to leave USA to do that, and risk not being able to return?

Maybe I should replace my pool noodle and knife combo with a flag?

I am totally in! We could bike to morning Friday coffee with @bikewinnipeg.bsky.social on Assiniboine. And then bring lawn chairs to Portage and Main and watch people cross while drinking coffee!

There should be more and wider bike lanes then, not fewer.

Still worrisome because all these people would have voted D 7 months ago. And everyone still needs to wait another 3.5 years for the next election. With no guarantee the result will be different.

If I could not get to the store on my bike, I would not shop there for groceries.

If the topic is being postponed because the report is not ready, they would have known the report was not ready on the deadline date for background docs for a meeting. So why not announce it then, rather than wait until meeting when public already booked time off.

Did anyone track the kms we did on the architecture tour? I want to enter it in GoManitoba @greenactioncentre.bsky.social Thanks for the great tour @brentbellamy.bsky.social

If that many hotel rooms are booked because so many people are travelling for only this meeting - it explains why so many people don't think climate change is a problem.

Glad to hear your friends were not injured by the drunk driver. Do we need @worldbollardassoc.bsky.social around every house? Then the car and not the house would be damaged.

All cities would be safer with lower speed limits for cars. So many lives would be saved. I am
Baffled we can’t make it happen. Now.

Then it must be completing tank fill with potable water . Not as great as my system. I use 100 percent grey water.

So it was due in April, has been extended 2 months to June and now another month to July, And has speed been reduced in the interim?

But one washing of hands is not enough grey water to flush a toilet. Would require grey water from kitchen sink as well. And shower.

I save my bathroom and kitchen sink water to use for toilet. Would be easier if they were connected with plumbing.

Mine will not eat the broken crumbs in the bag. They only eat the fully intact pieces. And if they drop broken bits as they eat - they obviously don't eat those either.

And better racks too - so they can lock the frame - and not just the front tire.

I have a wheel generated light for my 70s bike (which I think i saw in video). Mine is not working - so if bulb replacement does not fix it - not sure what else it could be. Does yours work?

Thanks for the update. Crews were in our area for several weeks this winter doing a big trimming of trees along the main lines. So I figured we should be good for a few years. But perhaps not! Thanks for getting us back online!

In its early years - I rode with people who did. I stayed on my bike and just rolled through slowly - or used my feet like a flintstone bike. Now I put all my energy into watching for cars turning into me.

It is a shame there is no public transit . Hospitals should offer free public transit. That helps the most vulnerable who do not have autos.

I agree - we sell the lower cost inputs and then buy back the outputs at a higher cost - so that other countries benefit from the value added and we don't have built-in sustainability and continue to depend on others. Bad for the economy and environment.
comment in response to

Thanks. Yes, I was hoping they would post an update but they don't seem to be - as the power is back up already. In the past we have had tree branches fall on the lines - which don't cause them to fall - it just interups the electricity. This was a big outage area - so very curious.

Our power was restored at around 4 pm. What would have caused the lines to fall? Do I need to worry about lines falling on me when I am walking and biking in my neighbourhood?
