You should also probably consider changing any passwords that are saved on your system.

I'm only about 3.5 mins in but I suspect you accidentally downloaded some malware and/or a keylogger. I would STRONGLY suggest you download something like malwarebytes (look it up, don't trust my links) and next time make sure you check the URL carefully before downloading anything.

I've only worked with WP on stand-alone servers and it doesn't do much. I guess the subscription format has more add-ons, which makes sense.

Too far for me to go right now but definitely seems like a missed opportunity for some pitching!

Warning for Wordpress: It's 'free' but does not do mailing lists 'out of the box' -- you will need a plugin to do it and they often appear to be free but will eventually charge you something. If you're going the WP route, look into the plugins as well.

If it's just a newsletter you can get a fairly simple "sign up for my newsletter" plugin and just add it to your existing website. The problem is that even the free services eventually start charging, as you hit various thresholds. Could use something like sender.net, not sure what your budget is

Fun fact: The 'chlorine smell' is not actually the chemicals, but the reaction of the chemicals with urine! So the more people pee in the pool, the more it smells of 'chlorine' (which is why public pools are often associated with a stronger smell)

Toronto can be very humid in the summers, so might need to add as much as 10deg to whatever the temp is posted as.

Apparently they thought it would be cool for the mini-series and then when it became a show they regretted it due to the amount of work it made for the prop department.

"when I need to" -- how often is the need for this clip coming up in casual interactions? "Sorry I'm late for the meeting, I'm glad you didn't cancel it, wait, hold on, lemme just search up this clip real quick..."

I have no designs that would fit what you publish but dammit I want to pitch this way anyway

Traveling is not fun for me but I generally like the vibe of a convention; seeing products and companies, hanging with people I haven't seen in awhile, and I actually like pitching.
comment in response to post
Was hoping to go to pitch but sadly not going this year.

Great albums but they became 'old people music' when they saw the changes coming to the form and decided to stay put. Some of the other members wanted to keep making the same music and never liked that Brian Wilson pushed them into new ideas. Pet Sounds is fantastic but I can't forgive Kokomo UGH

Opened DMs, I'm happy to chat about it. To save you time though -- I know how to do sales and marketing, I just don't want to.

Yep, I'm into board game design. Not really looking for any specific direction in design but happy to talk with anyone about it. If you know someone who wants to focus on sales, distribution, and marketing, I'd definitely be interested!
comment in response to post
Sales and distribution (I'm in analogue game design). I can do all the other parts but no interest in that part. I'm also not social enough to promote effectively.

Slight tangent: I also had an Atari computer (600XL) and I've had a hard time convincing people that yes it was a computer, not a game console (but I played Joust, Ms. Pac Man, and Donkey Kong on it anyway).
comment in response to post
I don't know the game but if it was a small dev team then it was probably just one of the devs recording it themselves.

I'm fine either way. I'd like to know how it's coming along but I also realize that it may change along the journey.

I'm still amazed by how much we as modern society have so readily agreed to give away (data) and spend ($) for some convenience. Caveat: Yes, for various reasons some people _need_ delivery services, obv. /rant

Also, these companies are pretty shameless in their web approach -- they set up their own menu systems for local restaurants, SEO the crap out of them so that they show up first in search, so even if you're trying to find a local place, you might only see the takeout option.
comment in response to post
Maddening. Ordering from one of our local restaurants through UberEats' website (see pt 2) and the prices for items are 10%-20% higher than just calling the place and ordering directly. This is above the service fees and tips. Once I saw that bill, stopped unless absolutely necessary.
