"When I embarked on my rabbinic journey just one year after the first Maharat cohort graduated, the reaction was simple: "Impossible." Orthodox women's ordination was seen as a contradiction in terms" this was my understanding

not sure half a dozen more members of congress who called for things like defunding the police would be helpful
comment in response to post
its weird how so called 'economists' don't appreciate this

So only thing you can do is improve people’s experience of the status quo to the extent they don’t think system needs tearing down - show government can deliver on cost of living, nhs, immigration and also address regional inequality and community neglect/decline.

what's the model for the most successful Green parties?
comment in response to post
no sure that's completely reasonable. I just found all the reaction to that OP very strange
comment in response to post
he's Jewish you know. that's how we know we can trust him

indeed!

yeah i think what a lot of people are missing is that the changes are already happening. in a whole range of industries hiring has slowed due to tasks being increasingly done by AI
comment in response to post
they're almost all going to go away. It's already started. then we can move on to quarter of a million people who work as paralegals or document reviewers in the British legal sector. and then do this over a vast swathe of white collar roles in the economy
comment in response to post
well the UK currently employs 100k people in call centres as one example
comment in response to post
you only have to think about the jobs that arent going to exist in a few years
comment in response to post
yeah for a whole range of tasks
comment in response to post
yeah but law is going to be one of the sectors most disrupted by AI
comment in response to post
have to say its pretty great as a cheat code for laziness but yes as is often the case with state of the art you have to understand its current limitations and make tweaks to your usage accordingly
comment in response to post
less fun when you've just lost your job!
comment in response to post
what do you mean? big changes are harder to adjust to
comment in response to post
well good or bad this is happening and I think the people QTing that OP are going to be shocked and unable to deal with the very near future
comment in response to post
why? you can fire the junior researcher
comment in response to post
which is also the case with junior researchers
comment in response to post
well just any tasks usually assigned to junior researchers. summarising documents for example. It can do in minutes what would take a junior researcher days
comment in response to post
prompt engineering is going to be something only necessary in the early years of AI. we're not going to be worrying about that in a few years time
