This is so awful. Firstly, for those affected (that might be in financial hardship). But there will be further effects, even if (mostly) ‘resolved’ soon. USA less attractive to research talent. Possible brain drain.

The dance was performed by the @bristoluni.bsky.social Lion Dance group. It followed a range of activities (eg lantern painting, card games) and East Asian food for the participants. Great to see this activity, spearheaded by our EDI Officer Lara Lalemi.

I wonder if they were aware that the concept of ‘protein structure with matrix-like background’ was used already for this @cellpress.bsky.social Structure cover, that we made in 2010 for doi.org/10.1016/j.st... (Only we used protein sequences as the ‘matrix’ symbols! They’re just a bit faint)
