lastly, i talked about intersession processes (thoughts, memories, fantasies… regarding therapy/the therapist in daily life) and their relation to suicidal ideation at the between- & within-person level. effects at both levels were relevant - which has implications for monitoring/feedback systems ☝️

Julie presented her qualitative master's thesis, for which she interviewed psychotherapists (look at the range!!) about the treatment of suicidal patients, with a special focus on the therapeutic alliance and competencies that enable productive work, of which mastery emerged as an important factor.

perfect start to the day: had the opportunity to put in perfect marks for 2 master‘s theses i supervised. one used a preregistered experiment testing an intervention to debunk suicide myths, and the other was a qualitative study on how therapists experience working with suicidal patients. so proud 🙌

received a grant rejection today, one that really hurt, with one reviewer rating the proposal “outstanding” (highest score) and another one rating it “poor” (lowest score). okay?! i’m going to buy myself an ice cream and call it a day.
