In the 60’s as well. And 80’s and 90’s for certain jobs.

I’m going with YES. They do not care. Promoting Vaccines and ‘social programs’ doesn’t fit the narrative she wants - the one that benefits her and her friendly oligarchs and supporters. Nenshi went to school with her. I’d be interested to hear his opinion of her intellect - Ideology VS intelligence.

What is she angling for?

His wife’s Daddy’s Home Tshirt following the U.S. election was inappropriate, disgusting and immature. A reporter needs to ask Ford if he’s still happy Trump won and if he still considers himself a Big Republican.

I also believe it is worsened by religious ideologies. The man as head of the household, women submissive to her husband, traditional family, traditional jobs.

It’s the non voter that concerns me. They are often those most impacted by the decisions gov makes. I understand wealthier people voting con. It is in their self interest. They have yachts, planes, expensive vehicles and trust funds to support. They need those tax cuts and corporate welfare.

I live in a seniors heavy area in Ontario. None of us voted Ford.

The wealthy will pay and the poor will suffer. Another economic class decision.

I knew Secret Service came early to do a security sweep and set up their own security details.

Has this been standard practice for other presidents?

What’s interesting is that the Poilievre family would have moved to Rideau Cottage if he had won. But moving because he lost is too much a hardship for his family. This is setting an awful precedent.

He will probably offer Canada concessions if they sign off on a Trump tower there.

I remain forever hopeful. At some point Albertan’s (who vote UCP) need to realize the class war must to be fought if they want a reasonable standard of living.
comment in response to

Yes and they are succeeding. They are also moving to Private Ed. This will create a 2 class Society. There will be a massive inc in the wealth gap. The very poor and the obscenely rich. This is what the oligarchs want. AB needs massive protests to send the message this will not be tolerated.

He probably would have another MP step down, continue to live on taxpayer funded welfare, and initiate another by-election.

Agree. Many Cannot. But Urban areas have many educated, well paid professionals that could donate a reasonable amount. Many farmers and ranchers have decent incomes. Combined, that would help.
comment in response to

It’s time those who care and who can step up with donations. The future of Alberta is at risk. Private HC & Ed will inc. costs and dec future income & job prospects, contaminated water will raise food prices, there is already high Elec and insurance premiums.

The NDP need to mount an effective education campaign and link these provincial issues to the UCP. They also need to drive the point that this is not the old Progressive Conservative Party.

Issues are not happening in isolation. The list of Smith’s failures to AB grow daily. Insurance ^, worse HC & ED, mining, Water contamination, loss of agri, Loss of mountain recreation and fishing. These all impact rural Alberta.
comment in response to

Perhaps, but the loss of a child or spouse would be devastating for many. The contamination of agri water should have an influence on rural Albertan’s.

I hope many of those who voted for the WildRose conservatives are coming to the realization that this government is working for their corporate masters and industry CEO’s (many non-Canadian). They need to vote for a party that will represent the interests of all Albertan’s.

He has the same smirk Poilievre has when he’s lying and fabricating talking points.

Brian Jean’s view is astounding considering he and many of his community lost their homes to the Fort Mac wildfire. He should be advocating for greener energy and climate change solutions.
comment in response to

I hope that this becomes a wake up call for rural Albertan’s to see the Conservative Party is the party of Corporate interests and not the party if the people. The majority of Albertan’s do not benefit from conservative policies and values.

Now the oligarchs, who benefit from the trickle down economics policies scream the poor, disabled, immigrants and social safety nets are to blame for the massive wealth gap. They distract us from blaming them, who continue to receive tax cuts, corporate welfare & inc the wealth gap.

Certainly, if one is planning to get pregnant, the baby needs to be protected by future mom getting vaccinated.

During emergencies we are asked to support the Red Cross. Often donations are matched by gov. They + others accumulate an sig amount of $$. I’ve never understood how those donation are distributed. Does any of the $ go to those directly impacted to provide necessities or help with rebuilding?
