Som sagt har jag den engelsk-språkiga versionen, men detta omslag är så oemotståndligt vackert att jag är starkt frestad att också skaffa den svenska utgåvan. Lycka till med den!

Not yet, but I think I will. So far, I've only muted a ton of words and some accounts I follow (alas). It's worked reasonably well, although lately too much content that I choose not to deal with on this platform has slipped through moderation, esp. when people post pictures without alt text.

That's a beautiful thought. I think you may be right.

So glad you highlighted the voice of the narrator. Conclave is another novel I've been going back and forth on, and this moves it from a "maybe" onto my TBB list. Thank you!

Reading the back cover synopsis of The Chef and The Countess I had EXACTLY the same reaction as you. Off to find an excerpt before buying in the hope it's even half as promising as the concept, because this I want to support.

This is like an illustration from a vintage storybook! Thank you for sharing such a lovely and uplifting reminder.

I've seen many of the attendant photos you've posted, but recording the visits in map form reveals just how amazing a feat you've undertaken!!

Reading the same story years later, in a different stage of life, does often feel like a new discovery (on various planes), doesn't it. Occasionally I prefer to leave a lovely experience in an untouched past, but in the case of Les Misérables I feel only repeat visits can make it truly unfold!

The painterly effect of your photographs is mesmerising. I keep coming back to this one just to sit with it and marvel at its beauty.

Ooh, it's always fun to read about the WW recs. I'd heard about the Moonlit Maze before and this reminded me to put it on my try-to-find-an-excerpt-before-buying list. (Only time-tested authors, like you, escape it.) Book slumps are awful. I hope June brightens up your pleasure reads.

Now there's a spot to release a breath - and then a longer, deeper one... Sounds like the loveliest kind of nurturing, nourishing retreat 😊
