*and* it was one of the routes specifically mentioned by @lisadominato.bsky.social and @kensimcity.bsky.social as a reason why the broadway bike routes couldn't be built. #bikeyvr #vanpoli

Remember this is in the current five year active mobility plan for vancouver- they have less than 3 years to build it in the current plan, for a route that has been waiting for these upgrades since 2015, and had capital money put away for it prior to 2022 when ABC removed it. #bikeyvr

So unless the city is going to pay 1.5 million for this route, which is heavily unlikely because ABC specifically didn't want to pay for this, otherwise it would have been paid for by the city two years ago and we would have public consultation starting by now. #vanpoli #bikeyvr

So Kent avenue got funded by Translink this year, but the city missed the funding window for provincial funding, so that 800k is likely just going to end up waiting because they're not going to piecemeal the work out. #bikeyvr

Why does the BIA hate customers?

Vancouver's had a voting place in the following election 18 months after the games. with less than 5000 people living there. River district still has yet to get one south of marine and it's exisisted with more people than that for 15 years. They take time, but it's amenities that speed it up.

Broadway has funcionally been part of downtown for 30 years, especially when we decided that eastward expansion of DT was not favourable. It's the city that refuses to understand that.

Rail from the ferry to to sooke please.

Honestly, that’s kinda the point. Even the “elbows up” line lately comes nowhere near the kind of propaganda, but it really underlines how much of a fight WW2 was.

I unironically love ww2 propaganda posters- There's absolutely lesson modern designers can learn from cohesive focused design challenge.

I abhor gatekeeping, and I recognize that woodworking of all kinds has a large barrier to entry in terms of space and tools required to get good consistent results. Plus it’s just fun to share my ups and downs

The 24 at the bottom is actually pretty reasonable. Too late for this one tho

Cupboards that don’t close properly too.

This would not be the first time I've heard that. Either way they add a lot of value to the traditional armchair

Yeah. I'm not employed currently by them so reaching out to them directly is always welcome- tariffs and all that, but between this and a couple of other things going on, I'm hoping to be brought back soon.

If you find yourself in North Vancouver, you can always come by and take it for a test drive.
