We're literally training Israeli soldiers who then presumably go and kill innocent Palestinian women children. We are saying one thing and doing another (supporting a genocide).

This is no different to us training the Nazis. We're training soldiers who are murdering children and trying to wipe out an entire group of people.

Doesn't it depend how "rest periods"are defined? If there is a short period of rest and grazing animals are brought in to eat everything or it gets swaled, then it's back to square one. Can't see anything the defines what this means..

I agree. That doesn't mean you take a sledgehammer to deal with a nut whilst restricting the freedoms of millions of innocent people in the process, whilst not holding to account those in power who are creating the problem.

bsky.app/profile/news... His instincts are telling him he needs to keep blaming everything on immigration..

Or we could just regulate them properly and issue appropriate fines etc But we won't.

For a Lib Dem this is a deeply illiberal position to take. It also places the blame largely on the minority of ignorant racists and gives a free pass to the politicians and media that have been spreading hate against immigrants. From Starmers Island of Strangers to GB News - we know whose to blame

He also said the Labour Party needed to focus on immigration. Which means he's learnt nothing and will move the country further to the right whilst putting off progressive voters. Can't tell whether he's stupid or just naturally quite right wing. The article made him sound like a conservative.

I'll be honest- I read it because of your grand statement and learnt almost nothing about Starmer or his political beliefs (if he has any). It certainly reinforced what many of us know - there's little in the way of a vision or principles, and he isn't a socialist.

You'll learn almost nothing about his political beliefs. To sum up: He thinks Labour is right to obsess about immigration. He refused to talk about Gaza and the genocide he's supporting. He believes in human dignity but obviously not for the poor- particularly those with disabilities..

Can anyone on what grounds the gov is deporting people who are willingly appearing at court in relation to their immigration status?

it doesn’t appear to say how much will go on council housing? this is key, as most people in housing need can’t afford “affordable rents”.

Can anyone explain if the blanket bogs returning would be a temporary phase that leads to trees returning? I'm assuming that man chopped the trees and created the bogs and if left to rewild these areas would return to rainforest over time?

"Almost every designated feature assessed on Dartmoor is in unfavourable condition..that’s all Dartmoor’s blanket bogs, wet heaths, and dry heaths. And worse still, many are declining in condition." #rewilddartmoor

To sum up the article: "There are two sides to this story which makes it complicated so I feel unable to call out the genocide because Hamas started this on Oct 7th and some people are anti-Semitic."

I have a relative who voted green at the last election despite being a conservative who doesn't like paying taxes. I can only presume it's simply a mix of: - Protest vote - Voting for "change", regardless of what that is - Knowing nothing about the policies of the party they are voting for
comment in response to post
What we don't need is for Corbyn to create another party with similar policies to the greens which will split the vote and is guaranteed to let reform in. Those Starmer is forcing out need to join the greens.

It's wrong but TBF its how much of the world views the US. A corrupt country where elections are bought and guns rule. A country that uses military aggression to get what it wants around the world. A country built on slavery that has incarcerated millions because it doesn't want to help the poor.

I just assumed quite often that it's poor disenfranchised people letting an harsh, uncaring world know they exist.

There's always a catch with Blue Labour.
