Of course Jupiter was basically too big to notice, but astronomers did see brief impact sites on its gaseous layers before they were swept away.

Back in 1992 a chill little comet called Shoemaker-Levy 9 was minding its own business orbiting the solar system, when it got too close to Jupiter’s gravitational field. It was ripped apart, and collided with the gas giant!

the other way for energy to escape is hawking radiation, and that is slow and not very useable.

so besides energy out being hard to use, you are also spending energy getting trash off earth! Every pound of stuff that goes to the space station takes ~10 pounds of fuel!

Yes, blackholes will "consume" material in effect when it goes beyond the event horizon. I don't know how much of that energy is going to be useable. Infalling material does get heated up, and there are some incredible jets that form around big one, but

Breaking this down into pieces!
Put something between us and the Sun? Sure! There are places where the gravity between bodies can "cancel out" meaning that objects can co-rotate. They are called Lagrange Points, and for example we put JWST at L2.
