We know what the problem was — we just don’t want to admit it because of what it says about the true nature of this country. Two women ran against Trump and lost. Both were over-run by massive misogyny and misinformation. Now add race to the mix. Trump played identity politics the whole time.

I'll have more deep dives on this as more data comes out but what I'm seeing in the state data just doesn't match the narrative being created. Nor is the "landslide" narrative accurate. Trump won a very marginal victory that came down to less than 250k votes in three swing states, similar to 2016.

...but if hostility to the party so far outweighs any support for it, then you can't really be surprised when we lose.
Republicans rightly recognize that our elections are a binary choice. Democrats too often do not. So long as that asymmetry exists in our media, the right will continue to win.
