"You can't react with an emoji to a group" says my email client.
But one day.
One day.
Maybe.

… And btw when I say it’s being spread by official WH accounts, I mean the official White House accounts (eg this one on Instagram) are literally posting this white supremacists’ handiwork.

… Today that image they created is being circulated all over social media by official DHS and WH accounts. They’re all very excited about it!
I suppose someone might want to ask govt officials how they happened to be using anti-immigrant images created by open white supremacists. Seems bad.

… Here’s Whitelandia’s bio. Note his clever use of a “juice” emoji in place of “Jews” in spouting replacement theory

… You’ll see he credits “Mr. Robert” — here he is, with “Wake Up White Man” in his bio and now his pinned tweet quite excited about the WH using his image.

We are asking you to recognize the realities of this moment. You will be asked to participate in actions that could easily impact not only your fellow Americans but also the health of this constitutional republic.
Govern yourselves accordingly. Do not fall prey to the rhetoric of politicians.

City officials and immigration rapid response networks arrived within minutes of the arrest. A member of Boyle Heights’ Immigration Rapid Response Network disposing of the “less lethal” munition thrown at the car. The spent munition was still lying in the street.

Immigration assistance from rapid response networks are here, and a crowd is beginning to form. There’s a tear gas canister thrown from federal authorities in the middle of the street.

Everything was fine until Trump decided to unleash violent raids w/o grounds in elementary schools, shopping areas, & peaceful public spaces.
ICE then illegally blocked Members of Congress entry into the facilities they are disappearing people into, escalating the situation.
Let’s start there.

Nothing is 100% secure, but that includes in person communications.
If someone obtains access to your phone, it doesn’t matter how secure your apps are. But Signal is dramatically more secure than using the telephone, or flying out to talk to someone in person.

Acton was behind WhatsApp before Meta bought it and worked for Meta for some time after the purchase; but Signal was written by Moxie Marlinspike, using the protocols he developed, and was around before WhatsApp adopted what's now called the Signal Protocol in 2014.

also, if you use Signal Desktop, yes, it stores a copy of the messages on your hard drive, so anything with access to your hard drive can access those messages. Make sure you full disk encrypt and don't install malware, or, y'know, just don't use Signal Desktop if your threat model prohibits it.

Success! ICE was forced to leave their hotel in the middle of the night after activists located where ICE was staying and surrounded the hotel with a noise demonstration. Hundreds of drivers joined in by blasting their horns as they drove by. Hotel management asked ICE to leave. #NoSleepForICE
