Coming in later for those of you on the mainland: we had our protest in tiny Hāna. 25 people and lots of honking and shaka support from the cars going by! Way to show up, Hāna!

On a tragic and important day in our nation, I went on my usual walk with Masu at the bay & got a reminder of all that's good in this world & why we, as stewards of the human community, show up to protest evil and injustice. Little bitty Hāna, in remote east Maui, will take a stand this afternoon.

Join us this morning for church! We welcome the ladies of the Queen Ka’ahumanu Society and honor King Kamehameha on this Ali'i Sunday. More information in the alt text.

When the Trump administration says they need to make it easier to fire people to improve performance, you only need to look at why they are actually firing people. It is to assert authoritarian control where even being friends with a blacklisted person is enough to justify firing.

Morning walk at Kapueokahi today. A family's set up for a big graduation lū'au and a couple of the bay cats found somebody's food sitting on the table! There was a hula ritual that I took of picture of even though I didn't ask permission. It was lovely, though. More info in the alt text.

Today we went to the other side for some banking. There's a branch in Hāna that's open 3-4:30 but doesn't have all services. 😆 Although I love the Road to Hāna (tourists, PLEASE pull over and let locals pass), I miss my morning walk at the bay. And it's always, always so good to get back to Hāna.

On my walk this morning I glanced through a property and caught the moment the sun surfaced out of the ocean.

Everything is terrible but these gold dust day geckos had this whole thing going the other day. If you listen, you can hear my dog gently woofing at them.

A speech we all need to hear.

I want more of this feeling in my life (grandson Sam).
