Whoa! Natural Grocer in Fort Collin, Colorado, seemed ⅓ empty yesterday. Same message.

Yeah, but tourists falling down the sides of hills getting scraped by jagged lava rocks, or tourists going into waves they can’t handle and getting tossed into jagged lava rock, probably aren’t describing the injuries as “nice”! 😉

That's what he said. Now the tsunami warning sirens are tested every month and people have ample, ongoing education about tsunamis and escape routes.
The school children dying is such a heartbreak.

My 92 yr old friend is a man who grew up in Hamoa 2.5 miles south of Hāna in the area the tsunami came ashore. He's told me details about the families and houses affected.
His father got a one acre piece of land in Hāna following the tsunami, as did 31 families who were affected by the tsunami.

I thought nothing was going to happen here but just yesterday someone decided to make it happen. Last minute but it happened!

Thanks for the repost, @jwolfiedog.bsky.social. Such a pretty morning view I get to enjoy and share until a week from Monday. Then we're off again.

In northern Michigan where we spend summers it's been both unusually cold and unusually warm/hot. And there was the very unusual ice storm that brought down trees everywhere, caused real damage, and left some people without power for weeks.
We are living in rapid climate change.

You've had some chilly weather. Was it later than usual or is that what you expect?

Wacky, yes, but a really great shot!

That columbine is beautiful! As are all the others, but the colors of the columbine are fun!

Thank you for sharing pictures of your microfarm. Brought my blood pressure down just looking at them! I swear I can smell the evening air.

I’d just tweak it to say, “He’s on a mission of fraud and we’re going to stop him.”

I suppose, but the only thing I've actually witnessed a gecko eating is a baby gecko. 😬 I tried to tell it we don't eat our young in this household but it persisted.

No, they're housemates. This year for some reasons we've been a real gecko nursery, too. I'm content with sharing the house but we do clean up a lot of gecko poop.
They're not usually this bold but this one (one of the geckos in the video) seems to think he's our pet.

Hah! Yes, it was!! That kind of spoiled the fun. The video is cool.

March was SO HOT and dry but it's been sweet since then! I'd love some upcountry weather but then I'd have to be somewhere else than Hāna in spring.

We're in Hāna and usually don't get much sunset but the sky above the mountains was so blue and clear (!), capped by those beautiful sunset clouds you saw.

This is beautiful.
And to add some words, it immediately reminded me of the photo I saw on MauiHub (where I can purchase local food weekly from all over the island). Pink oyster mushrooms.

I've never heard of Seattle dogs and had to look up what they are. That's some crazy combination! I bet it's tasty.
