niice! I've wanted to do something like this with ListenBrainz for so long but I hate web development haha

Ohhh why didn't I think of that

It's not like I go overboard with it or anything, either. I only really care about keeping my location, camera, microphone, and personal conversations private. These things are absolutely nobody else's business. It's sad that some people don't care to put in any small effort to not give that up.

On top of that, XMPP has so many proven implementations. Apple uses it to deliver ~500 million push notifications per day, for example. It's also what WhatsApp uses. XMPP obviously scales extremely well and fits a ton of use cases, so what's the point of Matrix?

The protocol specifications suck too imo, they are overcomplicated and hard to understand compared to XMPP. And I really don't like how companies are so involved in the project. It honestly doesn't even feel like a community-run or open source project at all.

Also, libadwaita apps are just so nice. The consistency, the reliability, the attention to detail. The GNOME ecosystem is the only one where the toolkit, the shell, and the apps all feel like they're actually designed to work together.

That's so real, I hate how unreliable tech is nowadays. I thought it was just me, but it seems like other people are having constant issues now too.

Hell yeah, it's amazing!

Yeah, it's really bad. With the most recent update: - My right controller is offset for ~10-20 minutes after resuming from sleep - It takes over an hour to find my WiFi 6E network even though my laptop connects instantly - Using Snapdragon Super Resolution causes extreme stutter

I'll just go back to Fleet for now, I guess. I'll definitely keep Builder installed, and try it out again every once in a while. I could honestly deal with it's smaller issues and still be happy, but LSP not working is a pretty big deal when I haven't used the language for over a year.

I really don't want to go back to using Helix and doing everything in the terminal. An IDE seems like such a better environment to me. But it's looking like I don't have much of a choice at this point. Can anyone recommend a decent Zig IDE that's open source and not ugly as fuck (VSCode).

Every time I've tried to use LLMs for programming, I've spent more time debugging and trying to fix it's code than I would've spent just writing it myself. And on top of that, it makes things harder to maintain in the long term.

Now that GNOME Builder has proper ZLS support, I'm migrating to it. Honestly loving it even more than Fleet, and it's definitely less buggy with git submodules. On top of that, it's nice to not have AI mentioned in the IDE at all, I'm sick of it.

I do! Although it'll be a while until my debut album; I have very high standards for myself, and of course properly publishing can take a while.

For real. I genuinely cannot imagine how this made it into production...
