Sounds like plagiarism to me!

It's a mark of what's gone wrong with British politics that it's regarded as some kind of career-ending humiliation when a govt has to make concessions to Members of Parliament. We'd be much better governed if MPs found their backbones more often, & govts routinely had to respond to their concerns.

Exactly this. Today is really gloomy on the HE front.

You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone…

It amazes me that all this is debatable.

No words.

Even if you’re a Reform leaning net zero sceptic, surely you’re not a clean air sceptic. 30k people die each year and the economic cost is £27 billion at least. t.co/MwShMFIZSC

#OtD 21 Jun 1908 "Women's Sunday" took place in London when 300,000 women descended on Hyde Park to demonstrate in favour of women's suffrage - the largest political gathering to date in the park stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/9395...

Whatever one’s view on Iran, Trump just got us into a war without any involvement by Congress. This is consistent with his general lawlessness — secret police, deportations without due process, illegally impounding appropriated funds, etc. He absolutely should be removed from office.

Shameful pandering

I have not forgotten. A responsible government would not have enabled this numbers of deaths.

Still true: *Britain is a success story *Most of its cities are doing astonishingly well *Multiculturalism is popular *Mass immigration has not led to social disintegration *Nostalgia is increasingly weird *Britain is incredibly safe *Levels of social cohesion are high Don't let them gaslight you.

Of course, the most successful outcomes are always the result of knowing the correct answer before asking any questions… 😏

I understand. We understand. We understand the importance that Europe had in your lives and the sense of biting loss for many of you. We understand what Brexit has done. 2

We should be doing more for Ukraine 🇺🇦

Undo Brexit now!

Why am I not surprised? 😕

I did all my degrees at Cardiff University This news is heartbreaking

NB: We are now at a 0.47 Gini co-efficient in the US. @walterscheidel.bsky.social and Friesen estim. the Roman Empire’s at 0.42–0.44. America is actually more unequal than Roman Empire, which had about 20%+ enslaved ppl. It was higher in the early Middle Ages but still. www.jstor.org/stable/40599...

Labour is rescuing the NHS faster than anyone predicted. The latest stats show their strategy is creating tangible improvements – and a brutal reality check for the Tories and Reform. 5 undeniable signs of progress:

Remembering Jo Cox MP, murdered OTD in the lead-up to the Brexit vote. “We have more in common than divides us.”

Orkney is a jewel! I visited pre-Covid and was struck by how much history there is in such a small package. 5,000 years ago it was a northern Delphi and it geographic position meant the islands were still crucial in WW2. In between, St Magnus cathedral and much more.
